Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal puts it down and picks up the next new one.

"'Entered a world of abnormal beings.' That seems like the best way to say it."

 

"Yes, can you take us back now please?" Katie asks politely.

 

"I'd love to." He says, unmoving.
Pause
"...Of course, you can probably guess something's wrong by the fact I haven't already opened a portal."

This one seems like a bigger multishot. The bow seems to 'break' in half, forming an x-shape with twelve total notches for arrows.

"So, you just... stumbled on a whole bunch of 'em?"

 

"Oh, what's wrong?" Katie asks, worried.

 

"Have you spoken to Sivius about the great evil he kept at bay? Well... it's back, and it's not thrilled about being stalled."

 

"T-There's a great evil?" Katie asks, worried.

 

Rineth nods.
"The Cornae may have mentioned it. Completely separate to the Hive Master, but a problem nonetheless."

 

"A-As dangerous as the hive master? What's this evil being doing?" Katie asks nervously.

 

"They're... fanatics or something. They think this reality needs to change - but instead of trying to enslave the gods and force change, they want to return everything to null and start over."

 

"How would they be able to do that?" Katie asks, confused.

 

Crystal tries loading it, and shifting to pull it back.

"Well, some of my friends and I went to go do something, and that something involved going to another world, and that another world had a bunch of them."
I vaguely explain.
"I didn't find it by chance, though, so I didn't stumble upon them."

 

"Kill everyone and everything they come across."

It's really touch to pull back.

"You're making no sense, and right now I'm fine with forgetting my query."

 

"They...sort of sound like Shadows." Katie says.

 

Crystal keeps trying anyways.

"I didn't think I was. There's only so much I can say."
I shrug.

 

"Oh, it gets better - it's a being that uses darkness."

A little more bulk in the arms may help.

"What, is it classified?"

 

"So are they this reality's version of Shadows?" Katie asks.

 

"No, those would be the Void Chimera. Still, you've got a good and a bad side to this."
Pause for breath.
"Sivius killed all but one, except that one absorbed the strength of all the others."

 

"Like a Shadow?" Katie asks.

 

"Yep. Again, except that they aren't. They can use a shadow body, but instead of producing a shadow crystal, their physical body shows up when you slay the shadow body."

 

"But if they're using a non-physical form then couldn't they not hurt you?" Katie asks, confused.
