Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Rebuild." Murel says, pointing to the gaping hole in the palace.

 

Angela laughs slightly, still nervous.

 

"So, I'm going to get that done. You two... I dunno. Say goodbye to her or something? Go visit the thing we brought into the ER? Go find the rest of your friends in some random place in a wolf's head?"

 

"In a wolf's head?" Katie asks, confused.

 

"Embers... reading her mind?"

 

"Oh, right." Katie says.

 

"Yeah, but... where to start?"
Crystal asks, continuing to look over the bows.

I continue to walk around, stalling time, and looking out for Peridot.

 

I nod and head over to the nearest training dome.

 

"Anyhow, good luck for whatever you're doing." Murel says, walking off.

He follows, activating it as he enters.

"Maybe try the sniper's bow? It's pretty heavy, so you'll be able to find your limits quick." Linoa suggests.

Another six hours, and no Peridot.

 

Katie and Angela try to head back the way they entered, aiming to try and find Rineth again.

 

Crystal picks up the bow with the scope.
"This one?"

I decide to wait around the black market, loitering and seeing if anything eventful happens.

 

He's still laying there staring skyward, just in a slightly different location.

"You find what you were looking for?" Rineth asks, not bothering to look at the pair.

"Yes. It's tough to pull back, but it's got the most range out of any of these."

Everyone shoots you suspicious looks, but nobody acknowledges or even comes close to you.

 

"Huh."
Crystal lines it up, imagining how he's going to shoot it.

I just wait out the day.

 

The scope seems to be a guide for where the arrow will go.

-One day later-
Finally, you're supposed to go back to Rob and retrieve the weapon. At least... at some point today.

 

Crystal looks around for the quiver.

I make my way back to Rob's shop.

 

Linoa just grabbed a basket of arrows.

Nobody else is there but Rob, as usual.
"Oh, hey. Did you spread the word? Got another order from another new customer." He asks, bashing on a chunk of metal before you can talk as usual.

 

Grabbing one, he knocks the bow and aims at a target.

"No. I maybe should've, put I don't really know anyone here."

 

The scope zooms in on... not the target. Seems Crystal's aim is displaced with the bow.

"Oh, well I thought maybe you did. Business is always nice, though." He shrugs. "So, again, your hammer'll be seven."

 

He adjusts the scope to aim at the target.

"Right."
I say, handing out the bag of twenty grams.
"Keep the change. I won't be buying anything else."

 

There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the scope at all.

Rob pauses.
"You're joking, right?"
