Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She's a bit numb, but she feels fine otherwise. Murel helps her stay upright.

"It's sad, but Embers was Liv's companion for centuries. It's like growing up with your best friend, then having them just... disappear without a trace."

 

Katie surrounds her hands with water, focusing for a moment before her double-trident flies past Angela and into her hand. Katie gets out of the bed, using her weapon to stay balanced.

"That'd be horrible..." Angela says sadly.

 

Murel lets Katie try and balance on her own, staying close.

"It's pretty bad. But, if you're into ridiculous things, I could carry you two up the staircase. I'd just get back in my armor, because personally I hate stairs too."

 

Crystal aims at the nearest target and fires.

"Something I can call you, then?"

 

Katie manages to balance herself, gaining her strength back.

"Um, yes please." Angela says, sounding more confident.

 

It's not a bullseye, but it's a hit.
"Good one!" Linoa says, offering Crystal five more arrows.

"...Rob."

"Meet me at the tower. I'll be there in ten minutes." Murel says, jogging off.

 

Part of his blob reaches up and grabs them instead of his arms. He then lets an arrow snake through him, arriving at his hand to knock an arrow once more, which he does.
"Thanks."

"Thanks, Rob. And, I take it the currency exchange is at the bank, yes?"
I ask.

 

Noting this, Linoa leaves the quiver near the blob.

"Weapons tend to be pricey, but yes." Rob says.

 

Crystal draws the bow once more, taking careful aim, then firing.

"Thank you."
I say, smiling before exiting.

 

He hits the ring around the bullseye.
"Closer."

Rob lets the door shut, the hiss of hot metal being submerged in water following.

 

"Mhmm."
Crystal nods, knocking an arrow and drawing his bow once more, before adjusting his aim and firing.

I make my way around, looking for the bank.

 

Bullseye.
"Great! Now, try hitting a target that's further out.

It's a bit tucked away, particularly away from the black market.
Once inside, the tellers are all humans. There's no line as one signals you to come to their desk.

 

Crystal nods, taking another arrow and aiming for one of the farther ones.

I take the offer, heading to their desk.

 

Hit, third ring out.
"Good."

"Hello, sir. How can we help you today?" He asks, smiling.

 

Taking a second before loading again, Crystal pulls back a bit more and aims for the farthest target.

"I don't exactly have any gold dust, I was wondering if I could make a currency exchange."
I explain politely.

 

The arrow doesn't go far enough.

"Sure, what are you trading in?" They ask, taking out a scale.

 

Crystal knocks another, aiming for the third target.

"Gold coins."
I say, taking a bag off of my belt.

 

Hit.
"How about one that's hanging from the ceiling?" Linoa asks.

"Can you give me one for a minute? Depending on the purity of the gold, it might not matter." They ask.

 

"Uhh..."
Crystal looks around for the one hanging from the ceiling.

"Alright."

 

There's a few dozen hanging targets.

They take the coin to a back room, re-emerging with it and a pouch a minute later.
"Thanks. This is the value of that coin, if you want to just trade that out."
