Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Linoa comes down five minutes later with two normal bows.
"Sorry, Muffy decided we should take the whole shelf." She laughs.

"The norm. Name and reason for visit. I don't care - go down and tell those that do."

It's all complimentary. There's water, hot cocoa, and apple juice.

 

Angela finishes her hot cocoa before putting her cup into the machine and selecting apple juice.

 

Crystal giggles, and looks around for Muffy.

"Alright. Thanks."
I say, dropping down to the nearest gate.

 

She may want to rinse it out with water first. The apple juice has little wisps of cocoa in it.

She's sitting on Linoa's head.

The gargoyle lands back on the pedastol, going dormant as a human guard glances out the gate.
"Well, uh... for redundancy's sake, what's your name and why do you seek entry?" They shrug.

 

"Hi Muffy!"
Crystal says cheerfully.

"Thirteen, and I'm wondering where the emergency room is."

 

Angela looks for somewhere to pour the apple/cocoa blend out.

 

"Mrow."
Linoa smiles.

OOC: Is Thirteen still in the underworld?

There's a grate and drain under the dispensers.

 

"Well, let's get started."
Crystal suggests.

OOC: Outside the gate to the courtyard.

 

Linoa hands him a bow and three arrows.
"First thing, never dry fire. That means never let go of the string without an arrow on it."

OOC: Spire, correct?

 

"Why not?"
He asks, taking the items.

OOC: Yes

 

Angela pours the contents of her cup out, before filling it with water, swirling it around and pouring that out too, finally selecting apple juice once more.

 

"It damages the bow." Linoa says.

"Who're you looking for in there?" They ask, opening the gates.

Now she has a cup of just apple juice.

 

"Okay."
Crystal holds the bow, clearly trying to remember something before dropping two arrows into himself, then trying to load the bow, but doing it the opposite way, pushing the arrow in instead of pulling it at first.

"Girl named Katie, associated with water."
I describe.

 

"Try pulling the arrow onto the string." Linoa says, demonstrating.

"Haven't seen her enter, sorry. You sure you're at the right place?"

 

"Oh, right."
Crystal says, trying it out.

"Maybe not. Thanks for your time."
I say, then leave.

 

The arrow nocks much more easily.

The gate closes behind you.

 

"There we go!"
Crystal says, finding something in the range to aim at.

Checking out the rest of the area, I make my way over to the industrial area first.

 

There's five targets at progressively larger distances.
"Now, pull the string back and make sure it's straight. Keep your fingers, or something, around the arrow so it doesn't fall off, and pull the bow back until it starts feeling tight. A shaky archer isn't one that lands a shot."

There's only six small factories here, and they seem to primarily be assembly line operations.

 

Crystal does as instructed, aiming at the closest target.

I go closer to see what they're making.

 

The arrow seems to pull away from the bow as he pulls back.

Some are making small pieces of machinery, others are making parts. However, one thing's in common; nothing's automated. Everything has a creature of some sort operating it.
