"I don't know, Emerald would."

"Guard came out and told me she went up ten flights of stairs, got tired, then made an ice slide down. A guard was passing by as she went down, and Katie found a tower shield at the end of her slide."

 

"Do you mind if I go ask her?"

"Yeah, that'll do it."

 

"I'm not ordering you around. You don't need to ask permission." Xlentia says, nodding.

"Ironically, the guard's apparently called an archangel here. Some kind of military rank, I guess. Super heavy armor, like a walking tank. There aren't too many, but there are a few you might see walking around. All of their weaponry is as heavy as their armor, too - Angela seemed put off by the jet-powered axe."

 

"Thanks."
Crystal smiles, shifting out the door then making his way to the library.

"I'll keep that in mind."

 

Upon arrival, Emerald's the only one there.

"That's irrelevant for you, though..." Rineth says, opening a wavering portal.
"I suppose you'll want back, so I'll go with you this time."

 

"Hey Emerald."
Crystal greets.

"You don't have to come if you don't want to. Then again, laying at the side of a volcano probably isn't the most fun."

 

"Hello, Crystal. Looking for someone?"

"I'm just waiting for whoever I go with. No different than when we were with Ihra." Rineth shrugs. "Unless you want to trek back from the underworld, I figured you'd want me to come with, if only to get back."

 

"Yeah. I was wondering if Linoa was here."

"I figured Aj or one of his friends probably has something, so you don't need to worry about that."

 

"No, she went with Aj to the underworld. I could call her here if you'd like."

"Fair point." Rineth says, laying back down. "According to Stephanie, mind the spiders."

 

"If she's fine with it, sure."

"I don't much mind spiders, but thanks for the warning."
I say, stepping through the portal.

 

Emerald nods, Linoa soon walking through a portal.
"Hey, Crystal wanted me?"
"Talk to him about it."
"Oh, hey!"

You step into a city with incredibly diverse architecture, humans walking among other creatures on the streets. There's a huge spire in the center of the city, a beam of white light cutting through the red-tinted sky from the top.

 

"Hey! I was wondering if you were up for more training."

I fly upwards and take an initial look around for anyone I know.

 

"Sure! What're you wanting to work on?"

The group's sitting on a bench, a few of them eating.

 

"Maybe some stuff with other weapons? I've kinda got a lot that I can use."
Crystal suggests, raising his hands and forming them into various different types of weapons, a few looking a little strange as weapons.

I walk up to the group on the bench.

 

"What about a little conditioning? You're a golem, so it's good to know your limits before you break trying something." Linoa suggests, pulling out her staff.
"Like my weapon, for example. Everyone can use a staff, but this isn't a staff. Some people ask me why I don't just use any old staff." She explains, setting one end on the ground and holding down four spectral chains that fall from the edges of the blades using her tail, both feet, and a hand.

"...and my answer has always been, a staff isn't a piece of artillery."

 

"Artillery?"
Crystal asks, a bit nervous.
"...Maybe we should get out of the library."

 

Linoa reverts her staff to... a staff.
"Good point."
"I've got it covered, but that's wise." Emerald says.

 

"Let's go to a dome, it'll be safer there."
Crystal suggests.

 

Linoa nods, offering Crystal up on her staff.

 

Crystal takes the offer.
