Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I don't think she was targeting us. She may have mistaken us for prey... look at the bone pile."
Alice points out the pile of bones picked clean of flesh, from teeth to broken scales to skulls.

 

"How did she manage to eat that?" Artemis asks, confused.

 

"I... would guess she shoved it straight down her throat." Alice shudders.

 

Angela throws up again.

"Just don't get any of that on me..." Shadow Stephanie says, holding Angela away from her.

"S-S-Sorry..." Angela says, looking pale.

 

"I don't know what to do, or say... I-I mean, I want to help her since she's my sister who wasn't a dick like Ruby... b-but what can we do?"

 

"Jack o' Lan-" I say, before going quiet as Artemis glares at me.

"Can she even see? Or hear?" Stephanie asks.

 

"Judging by the webs and the fact she hasn't responded to the conversation, I think she can only feel."

 

"A blind-deaf...the poor girl..." Artemis says sympathetically, shaking her head.

 

"I-I mean... the only thing we can do is check if she's still alive from time to time, I think... otherwise, how do we communicate? Or can we even?"

 

"We should just leave her. We can't do anything for her, at least not now." Stephanie says.

 

Alice sighs.
"You're right, as much as I don't want you to be right now." She mutters.
"Let's fly a bit, make her lose our trail." Rineth suggests. "We're still a few days out from the city."

 

"If anyone smaller than Rineth gets tired I have a spaceship we could use." I say, shrugging.

 

"...Do the gods even allow using it here?" Rineth asks, confused.
"I mean, he's already gotten pardoned from a pissed off Virei'tus, how much worse could he get?" Linoa comments, popping a cork off a bottle of wine.

"...And where the hell did you even manage to get that?"
"Shadow realm's aaaawesome." She giggles.

 

"I'll go get the spaceship if you're going to be drunk and flying." I say, disappearing with Artemis and Katie.

A while later, a spaceship flies through a dark portal, stopping to hover in the air as I wave the others over from the cockpit, a door on the side opening to reveal Katie and Artemis inside. Shadow Stephanie flies Angela into the spaceship, and Stephanie glides in. Luckily, there appears to be enough room for everyone inside.

 

Alice heads in out of curiosity, and Linoa's busy sipping her bottle of wine.
"I'm sober, thank you." Rineth growls, sounding offended.

 

The inside of the spaceship appears to be somewhat lush, yet durable. Soft seats line the sides, two doors at the front and back allowing entrance to the cockpit and inner workings of the spaceship.

The spaceship blasts off toward the city, a slight humming is all that can be heard inside.

"T-This is strange and new." Angela comments.

 

"On the bright side, not much will want to interfere with us. Except for the city guard." Alice says.

 

"I think Aj mentioned the ship has weaponry installed. I just hope he doesn't make us enemies to the city with them." Artemis says.

 

"You should probably make sure he doesn't try them out. That city worships the god that removes souls from bodies and euthanizes them into Oblivion. Pissing him off could cause problems, considering we sort of need ours for not-dying purposes."

 

Artemis gets up and heads through the door to the cockpit, returning a short while later.

"He said he wouldn't attack the city, but no promises on the spiders and other things that try to attack." Artemis says.
