Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She waits around the crystal, trying to figure out what it does.

 

The crystal seems to be giving off some kind of physically affecting magic, though Alice notices the tooth the crystal covers looks to be a little more out of place than the others.

 

"I was just wondering. Matriarch doesn't really seem like a name."

 

"You're right, it's a title."
Pause.
"Can you keep it a secret?"

Curious, Alice looks for any 'fake' teeth, or a disguised way to dislodge the crystal without setting Angela off.

 

"Yeah, sure."
He says, placing Aral'hrah in a newly formed pouch.
"What is it?"

 

"My name is Maralune, but I've been masquerading for years as The Matriarch."

 

All of Angela's teeth are real, though Alice could probably gently lift the crystal off Angela's tooth if she was careful enough.

 

Alice carefully tries to remove the crystal, dulling Angela's sensitivity ever so slightly around the crystal.

 

The crystal seems to be stuck on securely, but it slowly moves upward before Alice removes it.

 

"Isn't Maralune the name of this place?"
Crystal asks, confused.

 

Alice checks for any effects.

"It is?" She asks, also confused.

 

It seems to have just been moving Angela's tooth, like a singular-tooth brace.

 

Alice tries to stop the crystal from channeling its magic.

 

"Well, that's what it said above the portal that I used to get here."

 

"They named the world after me?"

 

It's quite easy to deactivate, though Angela soon seems to notice as she checks her teeth with a finger.

Angela quickly walks over to me.

"U-Um, Aj? I-I have a bit of a problem." Angela says.

"What is it?" I ask.

"W-Well, I went to t-the medical ward l-like you t-told me to when we f-first met, and t-they gave me a b-brace for o-one of my w-wisdom teeth, since they s-said it was out of place, and I t-think I lost it." Angela says nervously.

"Oh, that's fine. They should have you on record, so you could take a quick trip back there once we're finished here." I say, smiling.

"B-But, they said not to remove it." Angela says, worried.

"I'm sure it won't move much in a few days. You'll be fine." I say reassuringly.

"O-Ok, thank you." Angela says, falling back a bit to her old position in the group.

 

"I dunno."
Crystal admits.
"But why are you saying you're The Matriarch?"

 

Alice reinserts it, looking for anything else as she stops numbing the area.

"My mother tarnished our family name."

 

There doesn't appear to be anything else, Angela's body seeming normal and healthy.

 

"What happened?"
