I think the best use of quivering palm is it's time and range. You can keep it on them for at least 17 days, with the range limitation being the same plane of existence. If it were me, I would palm the target, wait a few days and get really far away, then trigger it. This way the target falls dead and I, the assassin, is no where around. However this would give the death saves, so it's iffy

That's why I'd use it in combat against a high-CR enemy. I can guarantee it's death by attacking it while it's down. Although, you could manipulate the timing so that they have a guaranteed death if you're smart about it... Stop the vibrations while they're in a fight or something.

Still, creatures with a really good CON score could avoid it. 10d10 damage is anywhere from 10-100 damage, which is not a lot for enemies of that night CR.

A planetarium has CR of 16, 200 HP, and +7 CON.

A Death Knight has CR 17, 180 hp, and +5 CON.

A Goristro has CR 17, 310 hp, and +7 CON.

A Dragon Turtle has a CR of 17, 341 hp, and +5 CON

Just to name a few.

Also, remember than legendary monsters can succeed 3 failed saves per day...

They probobly would only use their legendary resistance on saves that do big effects. Save vs 1d6 damage (Ti Lin's potions)? No way. Save vs 10d10 damage and disappearing for a round (Alas' level 14 ability)? Probobly.

By the time you burn their resistances you may be out of Ki

 

True... It depends on who's in the party, really.

 

If you have strong spellcasters, you may burn those saves. If you have mainly tanks, melee fighters, and supports (this party) then you may be out of luck

Speaking of this party, we have only one "full" caster, which is a Cleric so it's mainly support, although it does have some pretty powerful spells later. Alas does not really count as warlocks walk the line between caster and just normal fighting. They get powerful spells, but it's hard depending on how often the DM gives rests.

We have 3 half-casters (actually Ti Lin may be a third caster, idk) so no major spell damage and saves coming from there, mainly minor stuff.

And then 2 or 3 tanks (depending on how you count Kyelas) and two maybe three damage dealers (depending on where you shove Alas)

 

Yep. If I used all of my characters, maybe my Warlock, Cleric, and Sorcerer could do something... Kyelas would be useless, as would my Rogue. Except as cannon fodder. They work there.

The initiative is to give you the ability to join the battle and win XP, even if you fail an action, Stabber will still have his action before the turn of the Weird Water. Just join, you will earn XP.

Light domain clerics are hardly "pure support" casters...

Even so, I get your point. For one thing, none of us will have Wish in endgame, and we miss out on a lot of useful utility.

Now, if we had a wizard, or maybe another bard...

 

Do warlocks not get wish? RIP

There's an NPC who's a wizard (not Lettus), but not a very casting based one

And depending on where you go after this undead stuff I have a few sorcerers you may run into
