Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Fair enough."

 

I look back to see how Eklir and Gau are doing.

 

Eklir's tossing rocks half the size of his body, and Gau's essentially dusting with the strength he has left.

 

"So long as they don't kill each other..."
I mutter.

 

"Oh, there's been plenty of that. Those little creatures love to make their mark on each other."

 

"I noticed."

 

"I met a man who once said, patience is a virtue." I say, "I killed that man for not attacking."
The dirk points straight at Sivius, glowing. For a moment, Sivius feels something enveloping him, before the feeling disappears and the dirk floats back to me.

 

"Hard not to."

"Shame. From what I've heard so far, he's wiser than you." Sivius retorts, unflinching at the dirk as the dome forms overhead.
"Now, I won't give you my all just yet. Everyone's watching and nobody's listening; we may as well make this a spectacle."

 

Katie remains frozen in the block of ice in the underworld, and Angela keeps sobbing.

I look around, curious.

 

"You think everyone is watching." I say, as a sword materializes in my hand. The dirk continues to float behind me.

 

A forest of eternally burning wood stands to the north, and slightly-less-hellish fields and treelines stand between you and the city (east). There are several giant webs and holes visible in the ground just about everywhere. Away from the city seem to be just more wastelands and hellhounds.

Besides the one forest, it's not as firey as you might have expected.

"I don't think, I respond." Sivius replies, shadowy sword figures slowly forming in the aura of darkness as he stands ready.

 

"This is...pleasant." I say whilst looking around.

"So where's the relic?" Stephanie asks.

 

The ground looks slightly fleshy, though it's just slightly messed-up dirt. The grass is also sparse and thin, if it can even be called grass. Who knows?


Rineth sighs.
"Unfortunately, I don't know where it is or what it is. Just that it's here. However, I can probably guess...

...We have the two scales, and to separate a soul, we typically need the five core elements. We've got Spectra and Void, which leaves Aquos, Terra, and Pyros. This doesn't seem like a place the Aquos relic would be held, so that leaves either an earthen relic or a fire relic." Rineth rambles.

 

"We could always seek out guardian royalty to see if they have powerful elemental relics instead of exploring...this place." Artemis suggests.

"We've come this far already." Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging.

Stephanie summons her broom and gets on, flying off to explore. Artemis picks up Angela and carries her while I push Katie's ice cube along, increasing my size slightly. Shadow Stephanie trails after Stephanie, albeit loosely.

 

Linoa blinks out of the ice cube, unamused as she follows you. Rineth brings up the rear. Seems it's a long way to... anywhere.

Stephanie finds a few giant webs and oddly coordinated bushes brushing against each other, the sound aggrivating a hellhound to eventually step on a rock that turns out to be a mouth, hundreds of teeth grinding up the hellhound in moments as it closes up again and waits for its next victim.

 

A fireball flies towards Sivius.

 

Stephanie takes out a small wooden golem that seems to shake about lightly, before tossing it onto one of the webs, shaking it like a trapped fly trying to escape.

 

It's sliced in two and the halves flies around Sivius, but he doesn't appear to even flinch.

A half-spider lunges up and seizes the golem before realizing what it is, throwing it out of the web, glancing around (but not up), and hurriedly retreating back into the caverns below.

 

A second, smaller fireball flies towards Sivius.

 

Stephanie telekinetically picks up the golem and de-summons it.

Having seen what happened, Shadow Stephanie tries throwing a large bottle of hot-sauce at one of the rock-mouths.
