    Constructive Criticism:
Honestly, I really love this piece! You got the perspective and detail all nailed down. But the stature of the warrior in front almost looks like he/she is about to fall down. Their left foot needs to be bent forwards in order to convey a more realistic pose. So I just made the person stand up a bit straighter instead of leaning forwards.

I also added some more saturation at the bottom to give clarity to the foreground, but that's just personal preference.

The edit is very well done, it shows your vision of the picture that you were displaying on your words very well. Though, I don't think neither of the poses, the one you edited for him, and the one he did are what he was looking for.

Looking at it, I think he was striving for something more barbarian and a more raw pose, but didn't get it right whatsoever so it ended wobbly. I'm positive he wasn't just going for the gladiator theme, but also for something more dramatic.

I do agree with your observations, however, those observations only make the finished product better and add finesse to it, which is something I see Cicetil lacks a lot, but I think it's also important to get a grasp at what the artist was most likely to be striving for, and also critique on that, but who knows, really, I'm just calculating where his mistakes come from, rather than working with what is already finished :p

Really well put! I definitely understand what you mean by the edit of the poses. Cicetil definitely was going for more of a "battle stance" that I couldn't quite replicate with post editing. Some elements of anatomy in a piece need to be made during the drawing phase of the artwork, therefore I simply made a complete change to a straight stance. I've seen Cicetil strive for more detailed pieces, as seen in all of the portrait practices, so I hope that my little critique can point out the mistake with the leaned figure compared to a straight one. But yes, it definitely is not even comparable to the original vision at all.

Right, I just wanted for Cicetil to see with both our comments the difference between ambition and flexibility.

That if we don't achieve what we were striving for, that we should let the idea morph towards something that will work with what we already have made, and by doing this, the quality of our work will improve since we are observing and analysis our work, rather than ignoring our mistakes; and by realizing these, that even if the original idea we had cant be done anymore, that we will do the best we can with what we had made, this making us learn and be more prepared.

And, once you're more prepared, eventually you'll be able to execute the original idea you were striving for, but only if you don't get blinded by ambition.

Ambition is thinking big, and flexibility is doing the best we can, and both have to work together to learn how to be a better artist.
