If you can't sense anything there, always assume something is there.

Walking though an open field, perception check for enemies. Fail the check. OMG there must be enemies everywhere!

Perception Check for physical traps like tripwires: 9 + 2 WIS + 2 Prof = 13
Arcana Check for magic traps because Erevan failed: 13 + 2 INT = 15

So, bit of feedback, would it make sense for Kyelas to multiclass into a Paladin?

It would make sense, but it would be very hard to do practically.

For one thing, you would be casting from 2 different stats, which means none of your spells would be particularly effective...

For another, Paladins are most successful as tanky, strength-weapon users, while rangers are all about dexterity.
