    You can identify them at item identifiers to get more powerful equipment at the cost of emeralds. The first item identifier in on emerald trail, just go east of ragni, the starting city

    Unidentified items come in several levels, each better then the last

    Unique<Rare<Legendary<Mythic, with set being somewhere in the middle.
