OH MY GOD WE ARE FINALLY GETTING RID OF 1.8 F*** YEAH WOOOOOHOOOOO

I KNOW RIGHT MAN THIS IS AWESOME!! WE CAN USE THOSE END RODS AND ACTUALLY USE THE DURABILITY TO TEXTURE FEATURE LIKE THE COSMETIC RESKIN ITEMS!!

AND THAT IDEA I MADE CAN ACTUALLY BE FEASABLE (for sameless plug, go to signature) WITH THE OFFHAND.

I AM SO EXCITED

 

Honestly I feel too many people aren't giving the 1.9+ versions a chance, I mean yeah, I really don't care about the updates themselves nor do I really play them all that much. In general they sort of feel a tiny bit underwhelming, though I think that's just because I've been hanging out with 1.7.10/1.8.9 content for too long and haven't really toyed around with 1.9+ stuff. (Despite me playing 1.11 a lot I only use it to play Wynn + a few other non-vanilla servers)

What I do know is that many of the content in the current versions will improve Wynn, for instance, the PvP cooldown stuff can be customized and make attack speed feel more smooth.

As for the blocks, even if the new 1.12 blocks won't fit Wynn, we still have blocks from 1.9, 1.10, and 1.11.

Plus like many many other things I can't be bothered to list.

On another note... Why the fuck hasn't Wynn used Rabbits and Guardians despite it's "core" version being 1.8.9 for like more than a year now? We even have mobs that look like Guardians but aren't the actual Guardian mob, like, why?

 

Yay...or nay? Mixed feeling city, as I'll have to reload all my JourneyMap chunks...and I like 1.8.9...but we'll see what happens!

 

Hey, i feel you, I rarely if ever use Minecraft for anything BUT Wynncraft nowadays. And the 1.10 update is the only punny update adding a few mobs and blocks and really that's it.

Plus, we have no obligatio to make the Minecraft blocks wynncrafty, just look at sponge, so the odd purpur blocks and some of the terracotta can be changed for more usful and aplicable places.

And I don't know myself; the rabbits seem amazing for wynncraft mobs, maybe not as much the Guardians with their, uniqueness, but this just gave me a bit of fear for no use of the Shulkers, Illagers, and Llamas. Illagers could be the inhabitance of Dern (being the opposite of Gavel and all), Llamas being a mob like the horses, and Shulkers could be a odd turret thing, or their projectile for some kind of spell enemies use.

I just hope Jumla's making great progress on that new code and it's nearing the end so we can see these mobs and stuff ingame...

My computer seems to hate 1.9, especially wynncraft on that version

I guess I'll have to play Wynn on 15 fps for the rest of my life

 

Does it run the same on 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12?

First, inb4 legit armor skins.

Second, to answer your question about the Guardians, it's probably because of their floppiness when they're on land.

 

The thing is, mobs in Wynn don't really follow the normal AI patterns of vanilla Minecraft mobs, which could mean a Guardian would just move at you/shoot at you like most other mobs in Wynn.

 

We'll just have to wait and see, then.

 

I want 1.8.9 tho ;-;

1.8.9 is a really good MC version, like 1.7.10 before that and 1.6.4 too and etc etc.
but be realistic, what was better ? pvp ? maybe for someone.
but on wynn this doesn't matter, finally we're about to have more mobs/blocks/features/support... and an infinity of possibilities for the wynn world !
All of us should be happy to be free from MC 1.8 =D
