Hype Thread 3: ULTRA Edition!

Hello and welcome back to the Pokemon Hype Train! The hype took a brief hiatus after the release of Sun and Moon and the lack of... pretty much anything cool and Pokemon-related since. But now, we're back, to talk about... THESE:



Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon have been announced, as an alternate and enhanced version of Sun and Moon. What they'll contain? We're not really sure, but it will have some sweet new fusions with Solgaleo/Lunala and what appears to be Necrozma. So use this thread to talk about all the cool things you're hyped about for in US/UM, or anything else Pokemon-related!

Things to be hyped about:

• Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon! (Obviously!)
  
• Pokenn Tournament Deluxe, the enhanced port of Pokenn Tournament on the Nintendo Switch! Releases September 22nd.
  
• Gold and Silver are coming to the virtual console! Also releases September 22nd.

Maybe the dog pokemon (Don't know his name in english) will have 2 differents Ultra-evolution, one for midnight and one for midday, since we see him in the trailer it's possible :p

Seriously though, given the titles, I can only wonder if Ultra Beasts will play an even bigger role in the story than they did in SM... for example, not having pretty much all of them except Nihilego be postgame-only. (Not to mention, possibly more Ultra Beasts we didn't see?)
I really hope that if that's the case, we'll get a chance to actually explore Ultra Space, because I seriously loved that area for the short amount of time we had there.

 

Yes to that but also what about ultra beast legendaries, like an altered Dialga or something

 

Platinum didn't cheap out with the Distortion World so hopefully they get Ultra Space right this time.

What might be cool is if for each Ultra Beast, even if they're all post-game, you had to go through a different section of Ultra Space with different puzzles and overall visuals based around the Ultra Beast you find at the end. I just had a super good idea there which probably means that it'll never happen.

It'd be unusual for Pokemon but something along these lines where alternate universes are used would be cool

 

You know what this reminds me of?

Black 2 and White 2.

Both of these games released next in line after the original, and they both featured a fusion between the previous game's legendaries and a hidden legendary from that game, being Black Kyreum and White Kyreum. They also had an expanded story, and added new Pokemon that weren't in the previous game.

These features all seem present in US and UM.

God, I can't wait until E3, though. I REALLY hope what they did last year (waiting months to give even the smallest bit of information...) doesn't happen again. Or at least, not to the extent it did last year.

Okay okay but guys, consider this:

Ultra Guzma. Guzma except even better. Leading the brand new Team ULTRA Skull which is just Team Skull but with even better costumes and even better raps. The vocals in their theme song now include TWO words instead of one. "uhn uhn ULTRA Skull! uhn uhn"

tbh i was getting that vibe too.

i was getting that vibe from the first game bc of the whole team skull/aether foundation thing which really reminded me of team plasma.

 

honestly the reveal trailer for this was shit
"hey let's do a thing for pokemon direct"
"sure! let's focus it on our new pokken that we're probably going to abandon anyways"
"but what about US/UM"
"fuck that let's put that at the last 5 seconds"

otherwise my thoughts about US/UM
please let us have an actual final boss if human fusing with kind-of-pokemon is a thing again

looks promising so far but we can't really jump to conclusions

also let space jellyfish have a role again somehow :^)

edit: also forgot to mention i'll be getting US due to a) nebby face ultra solgaleo and b) i have moon so I want the opposite version because wynaut
