Debate: Will Sword Art Online Prove More Popular Than Wynn?

Sword art online is launching on 06/16/2017. When it is release i know i will check it out and play the server for sure. but what impact will this server have on Wynn? It's a new, fresh MMORPG and will be a new experience and something completely different than Wynn. This means it might drag players away from Wynn.

jk i personly think that people (with 1-2 lvl 100s on wynn, will go and try this out for a new start.)

well yeah we're gonna try it, see it's full of references and/or weird ass roleplay and leave

 

Also, does the SOA server have some mad psychopath trapping children to VR, forcing them to be stuck playing the game forever, and death in game means actual death, or taking if the VR means death. And will I be strapped to my death bed with a feeding tube while in trapped?

Most likely not. Usually with MMO servers they are ambitious and try go for making one but it doesn't always work out.

But if they make it then good on them, some competition would be nice. (also helps with creating better ideas and updates).

 

There's there anime, then the mc mod. Now the server. Anime these days...

Alright so. From my experience with anime servers this is what I got:
-unballaned
-p2w
-war between other anime servers
-cancer
-builds usually stolen
-progress is slow

 

I see this crashing and burning because not too many people take SAO very seriously anymore, other than middle school edgelords.

Though, I remember there was a thread years ago, pre-9/7, of someone saying they wanted to recreate SAO in Minecraft, most of the replies (including mine!) commented on the overly ambitious and impossible task OP wanted to achieve. I believe that was the last time we saw that individual, hmm.

 

Competition incentivises efficiency and productivity, in other words it pushes the content team to make better updates. Competition is actually a good thing, I could probably mean faster updates (probably not actually lol)

 

To round up all the comments:
- This server will fail.
- Boom then bust.
- Anime servers are cancer.
