Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I nod.
"My friend's pretty powerful."

"So we just go back?"
Crystal asks Aral'hrah.

 

"Clearly."

"You go back with Ytir." He says. "I need to take a head count of my tribe and all."

 

"Well, I was just letting you know. Are you going to head over there?"

"Okay! Let's go, then."
Crystal says to Ytir, heading back over to the castle.

 

"We'll see if anything can be salvaged here, then yeah."
"I should probably see how badly the marketplace is torn up."

Ytir trots after Crystal, staying fairly close.
"What are all the fancy things on your body?" He asks, just before reaching the castle gate.

 

"I'm going to keep looking for people."
I say, then fly off and do just that.

"Huh? You mean the runes?"
Crystal asks, continuing to walk.

 

The rest of the block seems to be empty or evacuated.

"Those are runes? Doesn't that hurt?"

 

I take the chance to search outside the walls.

"It did when I got them."

 

Nothing but corpses and the occasional raptor sniffing around.

"Looks like it. They're pretty big, too, so I'd guess you've got big spells on you."

 

I then fly back to the farm, checking around for anyone I recognize, or anyone at all.

"They're just null runes. It's nothing that big."

 

Leo's still there, and one of the two guards is almost there.

"Null runes? Clearly they must be big, you're practically covered in them!"

 

I land next to Leo.
"So, what's the plan?"

"I guess they might be big to you, huh."
Crystal ponders.

 

I head to the Archives to look for Emily.

 

The door opens on its own.
"Yes, Terrae?" Emily calls from deep inside the Archives.

He ignores you, eyes glowing a dull grey.

"I mean, I can fit in some of them... so yeah."

 

"Something wrong?"
I ask.

Crystal just shrugs, continuing to walk.

 

He continues ignoring you, a slight breeze going by.

Ytir keeps on following.
"Can you tell me why Chief told me I just need to be up here?"

 

"Hey. Leo."
I say fairly loudly.

"I don't really know. I asked him if he wanted to get to know people in there, then he said something like 'Ytir would be better at it'."

 

Still nothing.

"So, I'm going to be brought into the kingdom and then just thrown in front of people or something?" He asks, confused.

 

I put my hand on his shoulder and shake him a bit.

"I'll be there with you."
Crystal encourages.

 

Leo sighs, turning to you.
"Can't you let a guy concentrate?" He asks, grey wisps of color leaving his eyes.

"Thanks." He says, though Crystal's words didn't seem to do much. "I just hope I don't actually get thrown somewhere."

 

"Apologies."
I say, honestly.
"I tend to think the worst when it comes to magic."

"Don't worry, you'll be fine."
