Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I guess we can grant you special entry. Just don't try anything funny." The guard says, opening the gates with her partner.

 

"Thank you... is he in the throne room?" She asks, resisting a habitual urge to put the hood on her cloak on.

 

"Currently, yes." The guard says.

 

"Thank you. And, can you remind me which side of the elevator has the guide book?" She says, bowing slightly as she starts to enter.

 

"Opposite the dials." The guard says, going back to her duty.

 

"Thank you." Ali says, heading to the elevator, looking up the combo for the throne room, and inputting that.

 

Ironically, the throne room appears to be just opposite the main entrance, Ali being teleported back to where she just entered.

 

She facepaws, heading there.

 

A pair of guards wait outside the throne room, looking down at Ali once she arrives.

 

"May I talk with the king, please?" She asks, a bit nervous.

 

"What grounds do you stand on to see him?" One of the guards asks.

 

"Uhm... I wanted to thank him for all he did to help my cafe, then I had a personal question for him."

 

"Hm...very well. Cause no trouble while you're in there." The guard says, opening the doors to the throne room partially.

 

She nods, entering.

 

I sit on my large throne in my equally large form, looking bored as I appear to be writing on some paperwork.

 

"Excuse me... Aj?" Ali asks, taking her cloak off her shoulders.

 

"Yes?" I ask.

 

"I wanted to thank you and your ruling partner for helping out with my cafe. Uhm... business is booming and everything, but I realized I didn't deserve any of it. So..."
She hesitates before taking her cloak off, a glowing white stone within dimmed by its fabric.
"...You seemed pretty down about not being able to convince the mayor to give you this. It's our relic stone."

 

My eyes widen.

"So...what do I need to do to get it?" I ask.

 

"I-I, uh... I want to join you." She says, trying to build up confidence. "You gave me so much, and... even though I suffered because of your friends, I didn't deserve any of it. I closed up the cafe, brought some seeds with me...

...I left home. I did it b-because I want to make it up to you. I know my people will miss me, but I almost put my competition out of business. I gave them a little bit of what you gave me, with the new plants and all. I left home because if there's people like you who my people have no hope of stopping, who have intentions worse than murder... I-I just can't live trying to ignore that." She admits, shaken.
