Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I start doing better checks, looking through the windows, listening for sound, etcetera.

 

There's the Matriarch and an eldritch user that appears to be fused with their house. Thirteen is also walking down a housing row, looking for people.

Despite the thorough search, you only find silence and empty houses... or corpses. Or parts of corpses.

 

I fly upwards, taking more of an aerial view.

 

Roofs block your view anyways, but there's now only two people outside.

 

Artemis, confused, heads over to the eldritch user fused with their house.

 

There's a boy in a robe as dark as Neal's, paging through her tome.
"Who're you...? Did he lie to me?" They utter, weary.

 

I fly down a bit, seeing who the two people are.

 

They seem to be guards, doing exactly what you're doing and looking for survivors.

 

I land near them, announcing myself with a 'thump' to the ground.
"Find anyone?"
I ask suddenly.

 

"Artemis. Are there many users of eldritch magic here? I found a mage called Neal who used that magic too," Artemis asks, "That tome almost looks like hers too."

 

They turn hard, lowering their weapons soon after.
"We've found twelve residents and a merchant. No farmers or other guardsmen so far." One reports.
"No signs of the king or queen, either."

"So she tricked you, too... it is her tome. And, if you promise to give me mercy, I want to offer you one truth."

 

"The king and queen should be fine. As for you lot, what have you been eating?"

 

"We ate our last rations this morning."

 

"What convenient timing. A friend of mine grew some plants in the farm, I recommend you check it out, see what's edible."
I report.

 

"I would much rather offer you help in the form of getting you unattached from your house." Artemis says.

 

"Oh, really? We'll go check it out. A little gift of food might get people to come out. Thanks, mister!" One says.
"We owe you one." The other says as they head off.

"That can't happen. This isn't my house anyways. Come on, let me make up for what my family's done."

 

"No, you don't."
I say, shaking my head.
"Oh, and, when you get there, keep in mind two things,"
I start,
"Don't attack anything and don't piss off the green haired girl."

 

"Noted and noted." They nod.

 

"Where's the rest of the people, by the way? I intend to let them know as well."
I ask.

 

"Housing block A."
