Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The guards leave her, going back to their duty.

A short while later, the Matriarch narrowly avoids being stepped on as Shadow Stephanie leaves the throne room.

 

She's unresponsive, anyways.

 

The guards remain at the door, eventually leaving as new guards take their place.

 

As the new shift swaps in, it soon becomes apparent that the Matriarch is dead.

 

One of the guards takes out a black crystal, and a death guardian eventually arrives and takes the Matriarch away to a morgue.

 

Alice ends up stopping the death guardian.
"Hold on, that was her reward?" She asks, suspicious.

 

"She died." The death guardian says, sidestepping Alice and continuing onward.

 

"Oh, no you don't. She's not old enough to just pass then and there. It wasn't natural." She says, following them.

 

"It was. She just died." The death guardian says.

 

"I want her 'corpse.' This shit is why I quit my job originally." She says bluntly.

 

"You can't have it." The death guardian says.

 

"Prove to me she's dead and I'll stop bugging you." She challenges.

 

The death guardian simply raises a hand, and Alice blacks out.

 

Virei'tus is quick to follow.

"Okay, what's the fuss around you?" He asks the death guardian, impatient. "An entire race and one begging me to come here... What went down?"

 

The death guardian shrugs, continuing on.

 

A barrier impedes their progress.
"Why are you dragging off a bug in a coma?"

 

"I was told it was dead." The death guardian says.

 

"Your powers give you the ability to tell if things are dead, or if it is their time to die, no?"

 

The death guardian sighs, putting the Matriarch down and taking out a light green crystal, disappearing.

 

Virei'tus brings Alice back to her senses before teleporting off with the Matriarch.
