Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Uhm... she mentioned relocating her works. If you would like to see her, you may. She's... well, painting again." The guard says, pointing to the Matriarch painting on a canvas in her half-burnt room.

 

"I just hope people don't try and grab them as soon as they're grown. They need to spread, after all." Artemis says.

"Thank you." The Shadow says respectfully, heading over to the Matriarch.

 

"They're going to need to eat something."
I point out.

 

"I know. I'll grow some easy food to sate their hunger first." Artemis says.

 

She seems absorbed in her painting, that showing the Shadow Palace dining room. The coloring is accurate, though not muted with darkness, and she's currently working on finishing painting the guardians and shadows at the tables.

 

I nod.
"I'll fly around, see if there's a central farm, or something of the sort."
I say, flying off and

There isn't really more than one farm, all the crops on it withered.

 

The Shadow bows before the Matriarch, waiting to be spoken to.

Artemis waves, glancing around herself.

I land next to Artemis once more.
"I found it. It's pretty obvious, as there's a lot of withered plants on it. Need a lift, or can you follow?"
I ask.

 

It takes literally an hour, but she turns to the shadow.
"Huh? I thought you were just a shadow... who a- ah, forgive me, where are my manners? Can I help you?"

 

I sit on my throne for a bit, waiting to see if anything interesting happens.

 

Absolutely nobody passes by. Perhaps everyone's straight up too busy, or just that nobody needs to be granted your audience.

 

I nod in satisfaction, and then teleport to the factory where I had Allen's tools be repaired.

 

They're being reinforced at this point.

 

I ask how long it will take.

 

Three hours.

 

"Think you can give me a lift?" Artemis asks.

"Yes, I've been sent here by my queen to arrange a meeting between you and her. She wanted to reward you for your artwork, and try to sort out a deal. You may arrange the meeting to be in your realm or our's, but bear in mind more guards will be present if you choose yours." The Shadow explains respectfully, kneeling.

 

"A living shadow... wow... I'd love to meet her, but... I guess I'll go back. I was told my paintings would be safe there, and that I could go back and look at any time, but..."
Pause.
"Oh, dear, my manners! If you are willing to lead me to her, I'll be willing to speak with her in her domain."

The shadow can read some nervous thoughts, mostly about the Matriarch getting killed by anything in the shadow palace, but she seems willing enough to go anyways.

 

"I am most certainly able, if you would permit me to take you." The Shadow says.

 

The Matriarch smiles, holding out a hand.
"Then let's not keep her waiting."
