Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal and I stick near Artemis, and I fly up to watch Eve.

 

"They're a giant mantis of sorts. Well-mannered, called The Matriarch."
Alice hesitates.
"I was going to describe their paintings, but I think it may be worth your time to take a look at their works."


The town's silent, anyone outside looking for things to scavenge.

 

"Very well." Stephanie says, getting up from her throne and heading toward the exit, remaining in her larger form.


Artemis wanders around as Eve checks the new inhibitor, seeing if it will last indefinitely.

 

Alice, curious, trails her.


The inhibitor seems to be able to maintain the respite through the transition, but the battery reports that it has fifty years - about what the old inhibitor had.

 

Shadow Stephanie heads through the hallways, heading to a large staircase, it's individual steps made up of hundreds of normal-sized ones. Shadow Stephanie ascends the staircase, before heading through a few more hallways and coming to a large doorway labelled 'Museum'.


Eve makes note of this, before leaving through a portal.

 

Alice keeps trailing.

 

Shadow Stephanie enters the museum, surprisingly able to fit, before stopping.

"Where are the paintings?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"One of the rooms was mostly empty. I think it was one of the rooms further back? Past the statues and sculptures. When you start seeing paintings that look like they're totally different than anything we have here, you've found them."

 

Shadow Stephanie walks through the museum, eventually finding the room with the Matriarch's paintings and looking at them.

 

"I hope you find this worth the trouble coming here."

 

"They are quite a nice addition to the museum. I like them." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Your form said the mantis could store the paintings here, until her palace could be rebuilt. I was wondering, perhaps, should we commission her or offer her something to acquire her works? I find them mesmerizing, and I think the public would have great interest if she were to have her own exhibit here."

 

"I was thinking of giving her payment of some kind, actually." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"If you want to speak with her personally, she said she's from Maralune."

 

"I'll send someone to arrange a meeting." Shadow Stephanie says, turning to leave.

 

Alice nods, vanishing.

 

Shadow Stephanie returns to the throne room.


A long while later, a Shadow approaches the Matriach's home, looking around for her.

 

The guards stop them.
"Uhm... what are you, and what is your business here?"

 

"I'm a Shadow, I've been sent by my queen to arrange a meeting between her and uh," The Shadow takes out a small piece of paper, looking at it, "'The Matriarch'. Apparently she recently stored some of her artwork in the Shadow Palace museum?"
