Media Wynn Theory : Corrupted Dungeons

Hey all, this is my first theory thread, so please tell me any improvements I can make. Now, let's get started.

I've always wondered how the Corrupted Dungeons came to be. They are corrupted versions of the lower tier dungeon, but how does that work? According to the lore of Wynncraft, "...a demonic plague like no other spread through Gavel killing thousands..." This is the item lore of the infamous item, known as Cancer. How does this have to do with Corrupted Dungeons though? Well, recently Corkus came out, and the update added 2 new dungeons. The Corrupted Underworld Crypt, and the Corrupted Sand-Swept Tomb. The Corrupted Sand-Swept Tomb came with a pretty interesting item. This item was a bow called "Plague". Plague, that's what killed thousands in Gavel. Or you could call it Cancer, same thing. But how does that make sense? All the normal dungeons are in Wynn. Decrepit Sewers, Infested Pit, Lost Sanctuary, Underworld Crypt, Sand-Swept Tomb, Ice Barrows, Undergrowth Ruins, and the Galleon's Graveyard. The normal low leveled dungeons anyway, we're not talking about Fallen Factory because that's the different one here. So all the normal, low leveled dungeons are in Wynn. But where are the Corrupted Dungeons. They're in Gavel. Recently, the Forgery got a new add on. Teleportation Portals or whatever, were added, and you could go to any Corrupted Dungeon from the Forgery. Now, where's the forgery? Gavel. So, here's the basic idea : Gavel was infected with the Plague, or Cancer. Perhaps, some villagers (the master race of Gavel), came to Wynn. They found a dungeon. Say, the Decrepit Sewers. Infected with the Plague/Cancer, they went in, died, and infected the skeletons in the Decrepit Sewers with this deadly plague. However, since the dungeon bosses and mobs are very powerful, they survived pain and suffering of the Plague. This corrupted them, though, making them more powerful then they were. When soldiers ventured into their dungeon, they killed them with ease. This was a too easy challenge, however. So, they decided to find worthy opponents. Where would they go? Gavel. The Wynn soldiers travel to Gavel to find more worthy opponents. They find the dungeon. A challenge. The Corrupted Dungeon. And so this cycle happened for every dungeon.

Wynncraft dungeons we're really useless and nobody used them after a certain level,
So the content team needed a way to add dungeons back into relevancy without making new dungeons (coz its sooo hard)
So they took the original dungeons, changed a few blocks here and there, increased the level of the mobs and dungeon.
Added a new reward system so dungeons will be more than just xp

And invented some bs lore so it wouldn't make ANY sence -_-

 

But we're making lore behind it, that's the point XD

 

It's been confirmed i think that they're an alternate timeline where everyone dies/the future

 

I see your point, but I don't believe the connection is legit.

Find some more info than just two items being similar. I like the note about the forgery location, but it needs more.

And remember these dungeons are corrupted, which does not exist in Gavel

 

I think you could do better at sectioning rather than having your theory be a massive wall of text. A lot of people won't read it because of that.

 

It is confirmed by pretz, if I remember, that tyey take place in the future, hence most bosses talking about fighting you again, and General Graken leaving a note for you hoping that you won't return to the dungeon, and explaining what happened after you beat Charon

 

I think this is what brings it down. Gavel's plague and Wynn's corruption are two different things. With plague just being a new viral disease, perhaps received by the villagers' first contact with the recent fruman refugees, I don't think this simple sickness has made the bosses go mad and more importantly, powerful, as opposed to a sickness. I believe it is more likely to be the wynnic corruption, sourced by a portal that miners tapped into, and consequently went mad. This, to me, seems more likely to be the source of corrupted dungeons. As for the portals, heck, corrupted Santa probably broke his chimney.

 

I did a theory a while back which implied that Bob failed to seal The Beast and corrupted dungeons lead to that specific timeline

 

I don't think I confirmed anything, that was just what I thought was going on.

 

why not Fruma or Dern or Corkus?

 

Pretty sure Plague is a wink to Apocalypse, they're very similar.
