"A what and what?"

"Resting up. Nyx didn't have any crazy demands, and seems to be surprisingly good at detoxifying everything."

 

"A way back here." Stephanie says.

 

"Oh, that crystal can do all that? Magic is amazing..."

 

"It really is." Stephanie says, offering the now finished crystal to the Matriarch.

 

She takes it, bowing partially.
"Well, that aside, I think I should head home and make sure my people aren't suffering any more unnecessary deaths."

 

"Good luck!" Stephanie says, smiling.

 

She heads through the portal back home, guards swarming her with relief.

 

Stephanie waves, smiling.

 

I follow as well, Crystal lagging behind, but then jogs to catch up.

 

The earth guardian heads into the elevator, turning the dials and teleporting away. Artemis quickly turns the dials herself, turning them to the portal room's code.

 

"Where are they taking it?"
I ask, still following Artemis.

 

"To Maralune, I'd expect." Artemis says.

 

"...Alright."
I say, thinking.

 

"Very good." I say, ending the link and opening up another one with the head of the survey corps in the village.

"Status report?"

 

Artemis teleports to an empty portal room, heading over to the terminal and scrolling through the recent commands.

 

Crystal waits, and I catch up to Artemis to look at the commands.

 

"Strange, it's like they haven't been here yet." Artemis says as she scrolls through the commands.

Most of the commands seem to lead to locations on Earth or the Shadow Realm.

 

"Do you think they set up a separate portal to Maralune?"
I suggest.

 

"I doubt it. This is the main portal to practically anywhere, setting up a portal to Maralune would be sort of complex without a reference point." Artemis says.

 

"Hm."
I note, expecting Artemis to take care of opening the portal.
