"Well...nobody here is going to attack you." Stephanie says.

"Everything generally is." Artemis says, sighing.

 

"Yup. It's not impossible, though."

 

"Everything generally is." Artemis says, laughing slightly.

 

I smile.
"I'd more narrow that down to 'a lot of things'."

 

"I guess." Artemis says happily.

 

Pause.
"So, what were you doing with AJ, if you don't mind me asking?"

 

"Uhm...fun...things...together." Artemis says awkwardly.

 

"If you don't want to tell me, you don't have to."

 

"Thanks." Artemis says, sounding relieved.

 

I just keep walking.

 

Artemis heads toward the portal room, entering and heading through the Maralune pottal.

 

Crystal and I follow suit.

Neal's tome is still laying next to her ashes, but that's not why you brought Artemis.

You don't see any raptors, and the mantis seem to primarily be licking their wounds in terms of damage to their home.

"With how... well armed... everyone is, I frankly find that hard to believe." She admits.

 

"That's just for the protection of the palace, should anyone try to invade or attack." Stephanie says.

 

"Still, makes me nervous. That, however, isn't why I'm here, is it? How much farther is the museum?"

"Well, let's get to the castle."

"Aral'hrah, are you staying here?"

 

"Oh, sorry." Stephanie says, turning the final dial and teleporting the pair to a museum, various statues and artwork outlining the halls.

"Got it." Artemis says, heading toward the human settlement.

 

I start walking, but Crystal lags behind a bit.

 

Artemis glances back, slowing her pace.

 

"If it doesn't trouble you, I'll come if you let me."

The Matriarch looks at them, mostly with a critical eye.
"I'd love to meet a few of these artists. Their work seems crafted with motivation."
