Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The Matriarch still seems to be lost in thought, still just standing outside the doorway.

 

Stephanie looks back.

"Uhm, Matriarch?" Stephanie calls.

 

"Oh? Ah, sorry. No, I can't remember what lettuce is. I've heard of it before, though." She says, clearly lagging behind on the situation.

 

"Oh, well let's just go find a seat. You can remember when you get it!" Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"I hope!" She says, following Stephanie again.

 

Stephanie heads through the dining hall, eventually sitting down near to a few guardians eating some food, a seat available next to her.

Once the matriarch sits down, a waiter walks over to the pair.

"What can I get you two?" The waiter asks.

"I won't be having anything, but can the Matriarch here get a salad?" Stephanie asks.

"Certainly." The waiter says, before walking off.

 

"Are there any customs, formalities, or the like that I should know while I'm here?" She asks Stephanie, waiting.

 

"Um, try not to make a mess while you eat, and don't use normal light magic or any kind of light source. It's harmful to Shadows." Stephanie says.

 

"I can't use magic, so I guess I'll be okay." She says, glancing around. "But there are so many people here... it almost makes me want to paint it."

 

"I could find some art supplies for you. I think there's an art room here too." Stephanie says.

The waiter returns with a large plate of salad, placing it in front of the Matriarch.

"Enjoy." The waiter says, before walking off again.

 

"...What?"
Crystal seems confused, while I don't answer.

"Hello,"
I start, walking up to the guards.
"You're Artemis's guards, aren't you?"

 

The guards remain silent, probably unable to talk. The bow-wielding guard motions to the elevator, before returning aim to your head.

 

"Look, I need Artemis's help for something. That, and the king hasn't been seen for a while, so that's a secondary task."

 

The guards remain unmoving, arrow still aimed at your head.

 

"Crystal, watch my things."
I say, placing my weapons and quiver on the ground near him.
"Okay."
I turn back to the guards, hands in the air.

 

The guard just motions back to the elevator, looking ready to fire.

 

"Well, I'm obviously not going to be able to reason with you, so... How about you?"
I ask, turning to the guard with the scythe, putting my hand between the track of the arrow.

 

The scythe-wielding guard just keeps the door blocked with it's weapon.

 

I approach the door more, seeing what it does.

 

The guard turns the scythe to point toward you, and the bow-wielding guard draw it's bow back slightly more, taking stance to fire.
