Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, sounds cool. Well, not for you I guess."

 

"It's concerning to see your people shocked with some sort of yellow bolt when that's just their practice."

 

"OK then, which one of you is in charge of the others?" I ask still trying to remember their names

 

"I guess that'd be kinda scary, huh. Just having something coming at you from nothing."

 

"I am." Rineth says. "Mistress Xlentia took me away from my previous assignment to be here personally. Let me reiterate; I am Rineth, joint-lead Voidwalker with my wife who isn't here at the moment."

"Yeah."

 

"So where is your wife?" I ask knowing I'll regret my question

 

"Technically, Robot." Eve says.

 

Neal smiles.
"I'm sorry for giving you such a hard time. You seemed ready to kill me at any moment, and I was hoping to get you worked up to influence your aim. Guess it wouldn't matter."

"The obvious answer is not here, but I'm not sure."

 

"If I really wanted to, I could've killed you, but I'd rather follow orders than lose control of myself," Eve says, "There's no programming other than trust that prevents me from killing you."

 

"Oh boy, that's comforting." Neal laughs.

 

"Anyway, you know what to do right?"

 

"Wait for orders from you or your second in command. That's what we were told."

 

"I could kill you in 56 different ways at this very moment, within a few seconds, but I won't. You seem quite...interesting," Eve says, smiling, "Besides, my orders are not to bring harm through action or inaction to you, unless it is in self defence or accident through action or inaction."

 

"Very well, Lauin will fill you in. I need to go back to the Dragon Village."

 

"That's literally the kindest and least comforting thing I have ever heard." Neal laughs.

Rineth nods.
"Where are they?"

 

Eve laughs too, "People tend to say that quite a bit." She says happily.

 

"Well, I guess I shouldn't keep an angry goddess waiting. Where do I pray? This thing's huge."

 

"Generally just in front of it, like those Shadows." Eve says, pointing to a few Shadows praying in front of the statue.

 

Neal nods, kneeling and closing her eyes as she waits, unsure of what to pray about.

 

The moment Neal kneels down to pray, she feels the environment around her change.
