Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I sigh, before contacting the head of the survey corps by the ruins.
"Status Report?"

 

"Just, only the humans have ever had magic where we live."

"The walls are stable now. Allen's fallen ill, though we think it's just with contact with us."

 

"Oh. I don't think I know any humans with good magic, though."
"Stephanie's a human."
"Well, I know one, at least."

 

"Have you diagnosed his sickness? It may be highly infectious."

 

"It has the same symptoms as a disease we eradicated years ago. Also... we had some guard sent here through a portal say that an airship captain reporting that Ren looked to be unconscious at the bottom of the crater, though they were denied permission to descend and get a closer look."

 

The sugeon smiles, "Just doing our job, Miss." He says.

Once Neal leaves, Eve rushes over to her.

"Neal! I have amazing news! Tenebrae really wants to see you! Personally!" Eve says happily, "It took me a while to contact her, but when I did, she sounded like she really wanted to see you the moment I mentioned you."

 

"Very well. Is the disease lethal?" I say, teleporting to the bottom of the crater.

 

Neal smiles.
"I've been tipped off that she wants to make me suffer. However, that's just the price I pay for jumping the gun before I heard about just how impressive of a god she is. Anyhow, I guess I'll be playing another game of follow the leader with you?"

"It can be without treatment, but we're administering it."

Ren seems to have thrown up a bit here and there, laying in a position that looks like he's twisting in pain. However, it seems he has enough energy to look up at you, but not talk.

 

"I guess, though it's only one trip in the elevator." Eve says, heading to the elevator.

 

"That's one hell of an elevator, then." Neal compliments.

 

"It's more a teleportation system." Eve says, turning the dials instantaneously again as she and Neal are teleported to a room with a large statue of a female Shadow.

 

Neal looks up.
"Is that a representation of your goddess? Uh... while I'm pretty much gonna get whipped once I pray, I'd like to at least know what kind of goddess she actually is, if she isn't eldritch."

 

"Goddess of Darkness. And yes, that's a statue made to look like Tenebrae," Eve says happily, "She's not my goddess per se. My goddess would really be Gaia."

 

"I mean, what gifts of appeasement would she appreciate? Blood sacrifices? Flesh? Gold tribute? Begging for my life?"

 

"I'm not really sure. Honesty?" Eve says, shrugging, "89.7% of problematic cases have been lessened or solved through honesty."

 

"Well, I guess I'll trust you, Eve. But... I have one more question for you, and I'm hoping it's not classified."

 

"What's that?" Eve asks.

 

"Are you a robot, or a cyborg?"
