Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I've got three backup bodies, if she hates me that much she'll have to go on a pretty thorough search." Neal says, following instructions again.

"...have you fought since getting the runes?"

 

"I was training with my friend, but not really."

 

One of the other surgeons injects a needle into Neal's shoulder that makes her arm, or rather tentacles, go so numb she can't feel them anymore.

"Don't underestimate Lady Tenebrae. Supposedly when a 'Phoenix Sorcerer' threatened her, she killed him repeatedly, as well as his clones. If she wants someone dead, they'll be dead before they know it." The surgeon says, beginning to cut into Neal's shoulder.

 

"If this is a different reality, then this Tenebrae would be similar to Xlentia. If she's comparable in strength, then she too can destroy entire realities." Neal says, relaxing.

"You'll want to find out before then."

 

"Yeah, probably."

 

"I believe Xlentia is sort of like an alternate version of Lady Tenebrae, as the news I read stated. Different reality, different circumstances." The surgeon says, working with the others to remove Neal's arm.

 

The moment they get cut, the remainder of the arm-tentacles wither.

"You think I could meet them, too?"

 

"Who?"

 

Once the arm-tentacles are removed, the surgeons work on attaching the arm.

 

Neal still doesn't even budge, though a dark fluid starts to pool up on the hospital bed.

"The person who helped you with the runes."

 

"Sure, you could meet them! Getting the runes kinda hurts, though."

 

Some of the nurses work on cleaning up the fluid as the surgeons work, stitching up any wounds once the arm is attached.

 

It's hard to tell what's a wound and what isn't, but it doesn't take long to clean up.

"I... don't think I want runes. Just meet them, since my people don't even know how to use magic."

 

"Oh, okay. I'm pretty sure all of the draconians know magic, though."

 

The surgeon injects another needle into Neal's shoulder, and she can feel the prosthetic arm.

"Alright, give it a try." The surgeon says happily.

 

She tries to wiggle her fingers, then sit herself up and put her weight on the arm before slipping it through her cloak.
If all goes well, she just nods. Otherwise, she keeps trying.

"Way to make me feel inferior." He sighs.

 

"Oh, uh, sorry."
Crystal says, a bit dejected.

 

Everything works first time as it should, the arm just like a real one.

"Well, that's your surgery done. I hope everything goes well for you!" The surgeon says happily.

 

"Thanks for everything! Hopefully your goddess is forgiving, but I guess since this is a different reality, I've got other problems."

"Not your fault. Just... can't believe how much we've been stuck in the dark."

 

"What happened?"
