Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He hesitates.
"Well... I've always wanted to see what the respite air looked like."

 

"Alright. Well, we'll make sure you don't die when we get there. Before that, though, we need to find Artemis. Come, let's go."
I say, walking towards the portal.

 

Aral'hrah follows.
"Akli'il, if my people need me, I'm trusting you to keep them alive."
"...Of course. I suppose I do owe you at least that much."

 

"Bye, Akli'il."
"Bye."
Crystal says, following as well.

 

"Our goddess is extremely powerful. She is the source of darkness in this universe, and the mother of Shadows. If she dies, darkness shall cease to exist and our realm will collapse." The surgeon says.

 

Aral'hrah trots up next to Crystal.
"Crystal, was it? Are you some sort of golem?" He asks, looking up at Muffy who's back to sleeping on Crystal's shoulder.

 

"Uhh, I guess?"
He says, petting Muffy.
"People say I'm a golem, but I'm not like the ones that I see a lot."

 

"An elemental god? Ugh, I guess I can tolerate that." Neal complains. "I was hoping for a goddess with so much blood on her hands I'd want to worship her, but I guess that's just Xlentia right now."

"You're like a see-through golem with things scratched on you."

 

"Oh, the runes? Those are null-runes, they make different magical things not happen around me."

 

"She's killed billions, if not more, in the past." The surgeon says.

For a split second, Neal feels searing, torturous pain all through her body.

 

She doesn't flinch.
"Well... maybe. That is a respectable amount of zeroes."

"Oh, cool! So, like, other people couldn't use fire magic against you or something?"

 

"Well, it's ice magic, earth magic, barrier magic, and teleportation."
He states, pausing a bit to think about each.
"But yeah, pretty much."

 

"So, people can't teleport near you?"

 

"Or away. I think. I tested it out with a friend, and she couldn't do it at all."

 

"She's killed hundreds of thousands of people on her own reasoning and will, and trillions in her entire lifetime. You really don't want to be on Lady Tenebrae's bad side." The surgeon says as the doctor returns with a robotic looking arm.

 

Neal nods.
"Guess I'll have to go apologize. Ought to stop talking smack before I hear a resume." She smiles.

"Huh. Couldn't that screw over any teleporting friends, though?"

 

"I didn't try that out yet. The person who put it on me said something about it not affecting allies, but I don't know if we had to do something extra for that."

 

"That sounds like an important thing to know."

 

"I fear you may have angered Lady Tenebrae already. Tread carefully, Miss Neal. Now, as for your surgery, please lie down." The surgeon says.

 

"Yeah, it does, but... I mean, I haven't come across any point where it was a problem so far."
