Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm sick and tired of those weak things. Just get me an arm." Neal groans.

"I noticed. What good is it doing us?"

 

"Alright, Miss." The doctor says, before the group leaves.

A doctor opens the door to the room.

"Please follow me." The doctor says.

 

Neal nods, getting up and doing as told once again.

 

"Right now, it's more of a prototype. It's testing out the new battery, but it'll soon be upgraded and hopefully distributed by the masses."
I say, then Crystal whispers something to me.
"Oh, right. Aral'hrah, this is Crystal. Crystal, Aral'hrah."
I gesture to each person respectively, and Crystal waves.

 

The doctor leads Neal to a surgery room, a bed waiting.

"We can begin your operation as soon as we have your new arm, Miss Neal." One of the surgeons says, smiling.

 

Aral'hrah nods.
"Nice to meet you, Crystal."
Akli'il nods as well, remaining silent.

Neal nods.
"What material is being used for the prosthetic?" She asks.

 

"Prosthetic? We're making you a new arm. It'll have flesh and bone, not some external material. You'll be able to control it like normal." The surgeon says happily.

 

"You too."
He smiles.
"Oh, yeah, and that's Akli'il. Sorry for the bluntness, but I don't feel like I need to go through a formal introduction again."
I gesture to Akli'il, looking at him.

 

"No, no need." He says offhandedly, still counting.

Neal pauses.
"I asked for a prosthetic arm, but more flesh to burn never hurt anyone."

 

"Why would you want a prosthetic when you can have the real thing?" The surgeon asks.

 

"What's the count so far?"

 

"I counted three hundred of mine, and it's not looking like the other hundred is still all here."

Neal smiles.
"Why would you want the real thing when you can have a prosthetic?"

 

"Because a prosthetic is harder to control and more disconnected from you?" The surgeon asks, confused.

 

"So, just three-hundred raptors plus you two?"

 

Neal sighs.
"Nevermind. I don't want any limbs, just the visit."

"That's the count." Akli'il says.
"Mine went down to the lowlands."

 

"You're cancelling your operation?" The surgeon asks, confused.

 

"Yes. If I wanted a new flesh arm, I have eighteen contacts who'd do that for me. I asked for a prosthetic arm, but if your prosthetics can't match the control of a flesh arm, I'll pass."

 

"Lowlands?"
Crystal pipes up, confused.
"Some land lower than here. It's pretty much a completely area, though."
I respond.
"Why'd you send yours down there?"

 

"Well, they can, but I don't see why you'd want a prosthetic. Nevertheless, we can change your arm to be prosthetic if you wish." The surgeon says.

 

"Get away from the chaos. Scavenge a bit."
