Xlentia nods.

 

"Well, the plans are to reverse-engineer a new inhibitor from the previous one's parts. This one will have a new source of fuel, magic, and will be self-sustaining so it can run infinitely. Once a stable inhibitor is made, more shall be made and spead across the land until the ruin is purged or at least held back enough." Eve says.

Eve smiles, glancing back at Neal for her confirmation.

 

Neal nods, excited, before pausing.
"Wait... how much blood does this other god have on their hands?"

 

"Wait, what's the Inhibitor?"
"This."
I say, pointing to the Inhibitor.
"It's a device that keeps the area around here alive, keeping out the Ruin, which is keeping everything dead. That's why the ground outside looks so dead."
"Oh."

 

"Is that a problem if their hands are unbloodied or bloodied?" Eve asks.

"I have not seen anything quite like the ruin before. I have researched similar things, but none match the ruin." Eve says.

 

"Not nearly as respectable without blood. Xlentia has star systems worth of blood on her hands, and I wouldn't waste my time worshipping anyone lesser."

 

"Is it magic?"
"It's supposedly a gas, actually."

 

"From a history and personality standpoint, it is believed Tenebrae has wiped out her entire race's and realm's universe many times in the past to start again. Her realm is a mirror of Gaia's universe, though suited for darkness and Shadows. This means she's destroyed a universe many times over for a clean start." Eve says.

"You know more about the ruin?" Eve asks, intrigued.

 

"Yeah. I've been here for a while, and was trying to solve the problem, then AJ and Artemis showed up and stuff happened."

 

Neal smiles.
"I love me a benevolent murder-god. By all means, that's definitely my request."

 

I look around for the person with the flower.

 

Conveniently, she's coming to you.
"I got another." She grumbles.

 

I nod, before clearing my throat.

"As of today, leadership of this town is handed to this man right here." I say, motioning to my second-in-command."

 

"I hope they didn't cause too much of a problem for you?" Eve asks.

"Well, nobody has no way of direct contact with her to assure a meeting. The most you'll be able to do is pray to her and hope she responds." Eve says.

 

"They went down a different path than expected. It sped things up, but caused more problems such as the Inhibitor being broken."

 

The lady holds out the flower, the SIC looking a bit confused.
"It's tradition. If you are willing to go through a three day coma, you are worth our obedience."
"Ah, I see... your majesty, I'll take it from here... In three days." They say, eating the flower without hesitation.

"No rituals or anything to attract them? Usually I have to talk to a friend or two to help me find enough blood to sarifice."

 

"As records have shown, two people have made direct contact with Tenebrae recently. One was because they held a lot of power that concerned the safety of the realm and goddess herself, and the other as they wished to become a Shadow instead of half of one." Eve says.

 

I go through the portal before closing it.

 

"Either I get another favor or I meet her. An attempt isn't enough."

Back in the throne room, everything seems to be going fine. Except, unsurprisingly, Ren has left you a note saying that he didn't like living inside and is back at the bottom of the crater.

 

"I'll try my best to assure you have a meeting with her." Eve says.
