Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, I'm off, then. Tell Aral'hrah I stopped by."
I say, walking off towards the castle.

"It's kinda hard to do though, 'cause the runes stay when I shift."
Crystal comments, forming his hand back into a hand.

 

"When he wakes up, I will."


"The runes never change. I'd think you could memorize them after a while."

 

I wave back, continuing to walk.

"Maybe. I don't have that good of a memory."

 

Semi-conveniently, the arsonists burned down a path through the thick of the mantis forest.

Back at Rath'haga, the wall has already crumbled in most sections.


"You'd never forget Ihra, though, would you?"

 

I fly up to the top of it, looking at the inside.

"Ih... oh, yeah. I kinda joined the group pretty late though. I didn't really get to know her."

 

The wall seems to be hollowed out and used as a mass burial site, but raptors and other people have bashed it open to get at the future food stock.


Linoa sighs.
"Maybe you just forgot where you came from?"

 

I look inside the wall, looking for people.

"I know where I came from. It was this big island with a bunch different colored rocks."

 

"Well, alright. I guess it's just in my nature to not trust things that are alive that aren't brought about by normal means," Lily says, "No pun intended."

 

There's only dead people.


"So you can remember where you came from, where you were taken, but not yourself?"

"Pun?" The toy replies.

 

"'In my nature', I'm a forest guardian." Lily says, giggling to herself.

 

"I mean, I don't know what a pun is. I was only created with basic knowledge of how to identify sharp objects, movement, how to play Perry's favorite games, and how to learn."

 

I go inside the walls, and walk around, continuing to look.

"What?"
Crystal seems confused.

 

Bodies. Just bodies.


"You can remember where you came from, but you can't remember yourself."

 

I walk into some buildings, looking around for people still.

"Of course I can remember myself. What's there to remember anyways?"

 

All of the ones you enter are abandoned, it seems. Others are locked up tight.


"The fact that you're a wolf with a hand?" Linoa asks, sighing.

 

I knock on the next locked one I come across.

"I was working on it."
Crystal says, a bit agitated, before turning back into a human form.

 

"Well, if what you're saying is true, I can trust you." Lily says.

 

"A simple pushpin would render me useless. Utmost obedience is required if I wish to serve the young lady."

"Stay out!" The people inside shout.

"You were standing on your hind legs. You clearly thought you were transformed back."

 

"And if I break the door down?"
I ask.

"Shut up..."
Crystal says, clearly a bit embarrassed about his forgetfulness.

 

"Very well. It would be wrong to remove a toy from her she speaks so highly of anyway," Lily says, "Well, I have to go and start preparing dinner. She'll probably be hungry when she wakes up, and if she sleeps through the night, Charlie and I need to eat either way."
