Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Lily and I leave the room, soon returning with Perry's toy chest and closet. Lily carries the chest while I manage to carry the closet, looking a little bigger than normal as I place it in Perry's room next to the bookshelf, Lily putting the toy chest at the end of Perry's bed.

 

Perry ends up falling asleep on Wolfy.

 

Lily smiles, taking the duvet from Perry's bed and putting it over her on Wolfy.

"You sure you can take care of her?" I ask.

"Certainly. Charlie and I will try to educate her too, as you asked." Lily says.

"Thank you. Expect payment as well as money for essentials every month," I say, glancing at Perry, "I just want her to live a normal, free life. Having a murderous sister and being locked up all the time isn't good for a child."

"We'll alert you and the guards immediately if her sister or anyone else tries to bring her harm." Lily says.

"I'm not sure when her parents will visit, but expect them to arrive some time soon, I'm sure they'll want to see how Perry's settled in." I say.

"Very well, your majesty." Lily says, bowing respectfully.

I disappear, and Lily closes the curtains in Perry's room before leaving, closing her door quietly.

 

Toy Maralune seems to have watched the whole scene, and reaches out to Lily.
"You seem very capable of caring for the young lady Perry."

 

"Oh, um, thank you, whoever you are." Lily says, looking around.

 

"Then why would you have to start eating humans?"

 

The toy is behind her.
"I'm her companion toy."

"They're snagging our corpses."

 

"Oh, uh, I didn't know you could speak telepathically." Lily says, slightly nervous.

 

"It's okay. The shadow made it clear the magic I am created with is not known here."

 

"Oh, ok." Lily says, still nervous.

 

"...Is something ailing you, Lady Lily?" Toy Maralune asks.

 

"Well, it's just a bit strange to be talking to something that's not alive or undead, nor made with golemancy." Lily says.

 

"I suppose. My apologies."

 

"Well, uh, as long as you're not hostile, I guess I can let you stay around." Lily says.

 

"What do you mean? Are you denying me to stay near the one I was created for?"

 

"Just hope that it'll be ready soon, then. I could check with them, but they really could be anywhere."

 

"That's all we're able to do at this point."

 

"Well, I'm probably going to go talk to the humans, see how badly they're faring. I take it that you wouldn't want to come with?"
I offer.

 

"Well, uh, it just seems a bit hazardous to have a hostile sentient being near a child, but you seem to be non-hostile, so you can stay." Lily says, sounding a little scared.

 

"I was made so delicately to make sure I never become hostile."

"Not at all." Akli'il grumbles.


"You're improving, but you need to stop getting things caught in your runes." Linoa says, dome resetting. "That aside, we're done practicing for the day."
