Can't Finish Wynnexcavation Site D

I killed Amadel.

Multiple times, in fact. Twice solo, and once with someone else.

But it won't let me progress. Amadel's assistant says "Amadel couldn't be defeated" when I talk to him, but when I try to go into the teleporter, it throws me back out and he says, "You will die!" Am I doing something wrong, or is it glitched?

 

You need to get the pendant drop. You need to kill the wither, then a humanoid form to get it

 

He has a human form? When I kill him, I just get another wither.

 

I think there are multiple rooms, one for each stage.
I haven't done the quest in a while, so I don't really know at all.

You gotta kill it 3? Times

 

What's supposed to happen is that you first fight corrupted Amadel (the first room after the long dark path), then shadow Amadel (the skeleton with a ton of clones of itself), and finally the final form (the wither). The wither's death should trigger a spawn of a mob named "Wynnexcavation Leader Amadel" or something like that. Killing this small mob will yield you a pendant, which should give you access to the region that ends the quest.

The killing of the wither's spawn shouldn't spawn another wither. The wither may have just respawned naturally, and Amadel may have been killed by another mob which can negate you from getting the pendant. Once you kill the wither, look for a smaller humanoid Amadel mob, kill that, and it should drop the pendant. Try to make sure the wither isn't dying from another mob's attacks, or else it may respawn quickly without summoning the humanoid Amadel.

 

You need to kill the wither twice, then the human if I recall correctly

 

I'm receiving mixed messages here.

 

The first either uses either teleport or charge. The 2nd does the opposite then kill the humanoid form

 

O.o how are you so knowledgeable about boss mobs? :o do you know this kind of thing for every more important boss?

I know a lot about most bosses

 

actually, the wither spawns another wither. Each wither has 40k health, before the wither had 100k. It just split into forms.

 

:O you would be a handy dictionary... for both items and boss mobs... a portable poke would be a nice invention ;3

 

Then a final form, which I believe has extra elemental defence and 20k

The first and second form shouldn't be too confusing.
The third form (Amadel's Final Form) has 100,000 health
If you look at his health when he spawns, he has 50,000 health, which means you have to beat "Amadel's Final Form" Twice, adding up to 100,000 Health.

i suppose we ll just see if we find a time tommorow when both of us have time then :p it might take me a bit to travel though because all my classes are scattered across corkus and canyon of the lost/skyislands
