"underice" Quest Rewards (spoiler Alert!)

What I am asking may have been asked before, so please try to forgive me if I am too lazy to find one similar to this.
So, the Underice quest in Nessak requires one to deliver a Mythic Everlasting Pufferfish to either the underground squid people of the Underground Squid Village, or Gernald, an old fisherman. The squid people give you a weapon, while Gernald gives you an amulet. During the quest, you have to kill the Mythic Everlasting Pufferfish on a fishing dock. In this instance, the pufferfish spawned on the dock. Gernald is near the fishing dock, and once I killed the Mythic Everlasting Pufferfish, I was attacked by nearby snow wolves. So, naturally, I attacked them to defend myself. In doing so, I mistakenly interacted with Gernald, causing him to take the fish, and give me the amulet. However, I wanted the weapons of the squid village (and they seemed to need it more). Would I be able to trade my amulet (and maybe some extra cash if needed) to get the other reward? I know that the rules state that you can't refund anything purchased in game, but does this count as a purchase? If not, will I be able trade my rewards?
