Cleric: "Monk, you spent your entire childhood locked in your room studying. Seriously, didn't you pass out from hunger that one time? You know something about the planes, right?"
Monk: "Look, if you think I'm going to help you enslave someone..."
Cleric: *Pulls out Rapier* "Do iiiiiit..."
Monk: *Pulls out Sword* "Yes, because you could totally beat me in a fight. I have 17 AC, more HP, and can attack twice per turn."
Cleric: "DAMN IT!"

 

At the moment, what we lack is a full arcane caster, such as a bard or wizard, who can provide support and utility.

Kyleas and Yevor are limited by their small spell lists, so they can't really utility cast.
My spell list is naturally oriented towards healing and buffing, and my light domain naturally makes me more of a blaster.
Alas does get access to some decent utility, but he suffers from the warlock's small number of spell slots and somewhat smaller number of spells known.

Additionally, none of us will have access to wish in endgame (though I do get access to divine intervention once a week at level 20).

 

Yevor has Prestidigitation, which is a decent non-combat utility spell. However, the rest of his spell list is based around his role as a melee fighter, with False Life for healing, Burning Hands and Booming Blade for damage, and Shield for tanking.

 

Kyelas has Ice Knife for combat, Cure Wounds for healing, and Speak with Animals for utility. However, none of them are exactly god-tier spells in their fields. We definitely need a utility caster.

 

I'm talking about things like buffing and debuffing, group teleportation, providing flight, etc., which is the kind of thing Nat would have been very helpful for, later in the game.

 

Eldritch Knights really only get combat-based spells, although I'll look their spell list up.

 

Yeah... We need a utility caster.

@A_total_noob didn't you forgot about the Helmet of Nope again during the fight ?

 

Yeah, they get the first 4 levels of wizard, but, with a few exceptions, can only pick abjuration and evocation spells.

IDK if you were aware, but fiend warlocks get access to stuff like fireball and and scorching ray through their expanded spell list, sooo...

Watch where you point those things...

 

I just remembered that I can take Protection from Good and Evil at Level 4, since it's an abjuration spell, and considering how this campaign is going, help against elementals, fiends, and undead, amongst other things, looks very helpful.

How do you get Protection from Good and Evil as an at-will? It's a first-level spell.

 

I said prepare at will, not cast. Clerics have access to their entire spell list, but they must choose a specific set of spells to prepare each morning.

 

You still have limited spell slots, Yevor doesn't have many other uses for that spell known, and extra buffs are always nice.

 

IMO Absorb Elements is a better abjuration for your level... (assuming Spyro allows EE spells)

Anyway, PFEAG can still be a decent pick, and it's your character, anyway.

 

I think he does, considering there was a Genasi in our party a while ago. I'll think about what spell to take.

 

One mistake a lot of EK's make is thinking they have to pick damaging spells. Actually, since they can only cast up to 4th level, their melee damage usually outstrips their spells. They're better off focusing on control and self-buffing options, like Shield, Banishment, and Haste, to name a few. Keep in mind that you only get 4 spells that aren't Abjuration or Evocation, and one of those is restricted to 1st level only.
