Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Do you know what that totem's for?"
I ask Stephanie.

 

"Oh, I think it's for Artemis' nature drink. You just need to put a cup under it." Stephanie says, summoning a wooden cup and walking over to the totem, putting the cup into the slot. Vines grow around the cup, holding it in place as green liquid pours from the totem's mouth, filling the cup. The vines hold out the cup when it's full, and Stephanie takes it.

 

"Huh."
I note, a bit amused.

 

Stephanie takes a sip of the drink as she leaves Artemis' room, taking a right into another corridor, a pair of doors either side.

"The door on the left is the bathroom, while Shadow Aj's room is on the right." Stephanie says, heading to the black door on the right, another similar eye on the door like Shadow Stephanie's, however this one appears to be closed.

 

"Alright."
I just continue to follow.

 

Stephanie opens the door, and a mixed smell of flowers, blood and incense enters the air.

My room appears to be slightly darker than the others, though it's evident that this is because the curtains are closed. Stephanie walks over the the curtains and opens them, allowing light into the room and illuminating what's within.

A computer sits on a desk next to the window, dark bed on the opposite side. On the wall behind the desk, multi-coloured flowers are shaped in a heart above a wooden box, vines wrapped around it in a bow. A shelf is above the computer and desk, various magical trinkets and artefacts on it, some in cases others left to gather dust. Another of Artemis' totems resides on a bedside table, however the totem looks a little different, pink flower in the wooden hair of the totem.

 

"That's pretty cute."
I say, in reference to the heart and wooden box.

 

"Yeah, I guess Artemis must've left him a gift he hasn't found yet." Stephanie says happily.

 

"He's probably busy, being a king and all."

 

"Yeah, I'm pretty surprised he managed to live a double life for so long. He seemed pretty depressed when we found out." Stephanie says.

 

"I wonder why. I mean, if he's a king, he's a king. Maybe it's taxing on him."

 

"I guess it sort of changes your outlook on him, though. Instead of being just a normal Shadow, he's the king of the realm." Stephanie says, thinking.

 

I shrug.
"He's got his reasons, whatever they may be."

 

"Well, anyway, that's pretty much the end of the tour. I don't think there's much else to show you, unless you want to see the attic." Stephanie says.

 

"I don't really need to see it. Thanks for showing me around though."
I smile.

 

"No problem!" Stephanie says happily, smiling back.

 

"Well, I ought to be getting back to Maralune. I don't know what kind of progress AJ or Artemis made. Would you like to come with?"
I offer.

 

"No thanks, but thanks for the offer. I wanted to do a bit more research into some of the golems I've been making." Stephanie says happily.

 

I nod.
"Alright. Is there a portal open from here to either of the palaces?"
I ask, seemingly before departing.

 

"No, but I can get you to the Shadow Palace." Stephanie says, searching her cloak for a bit before taking out a black crystal, runes etched into it, and handing it to you.
