Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"How'd you come across them?"

 

"My tome, technically. I summoned Shadow Stephanie when I'd gathered all the materials to in secret, and she sort of introduced me to what Shadows were." Stephanie says.

 

"So you bought your tome off of the internet, then?"
I say, jokingly.

 

"No, actually. I found it in a hidden area in my parent's library. It's quite unique, and it felt like it was meant for me." Stephanie says happily.

 

"...Where are your parents? If you don't mind me asking."

 

"Dead. I ran away from home, they were horrible to me. They said I was adopted, and kept me locked in my room. I was only allowed one hour outside my room, and if that was over and I was still out, they'd beat me until I was back there. A while ago they found me again, and did even more horrible things to me as 'Punishment' for running away." Stephanie says.

 

"...Damn."
I say, taking it in.
"I'll not press further."

 

"I've...had to research certain potions that affect my body in certain ways after what they did to me when they kidnapped me," Stephanie says, sounding shaken, "A-Anyway, on with the tour."

Stephanie leaves the room, turning left at her door.

 

I looks like I'm about to say something before just following Stephanie.

 

Stephanie walks past the staircase again, before turning left. A yellowish-white door with a couple of notes in a strange looking language stuck to it lies ahead.

"This is Aj's room." Stephanie says, heading up to the door and knocking on it.

 

I just wait for someone to answer, interested.

 

A boy around Stephanie's age opens the door, wearing a blue shirt and jeans.

"Yeah?" Aj asks.

"I was just showing Thirteen around the house." Stephanie says, gesturing to you.

"Oh. Hey." Aj says, looking at you.

 

"Hey."
I respond, smiling.

 

"So, can I show Thirteen around your room?" Stephanie asks.

"Mmm...no." Aj says, starting to close the door.

"Wha-Aj!" Stephanie says, sounding annoyed.

"It's my room though. I don't want strangers in it." Aj says, Stephanie stopping the door from fully closing with her foot.

"Don't be rude, Thirteen's our guest!" Stephanie says.

"I don't like strangers in my room!" Aj says, getting slightly angry.

Stephanie sighs and turns to you, "Do you mind not seeing Aj's room?" She asks.

 

"I don't mind. It's his room, he can allow who he wants to allow in it."

 

"See? Exactly." I say, closing the door.

Stephanie sighs, "He's not usually this rude, he's just anti-social." She says, heading away from Aj's room toward what looks like an overgrown wooden door.

 

"Good to know."
I continue following.

 

"This is obviously Artemis' room. She only uses it during winter though." Stephanie says, trying to open the door before forcing it open, a few ivy vines breaking as she does so as an aroma of flowers and freshly cut grass emanates from the doorway.

Flowering plants grow along the walls of Artemis' room, and potted plants and saplings rest on a window sill above a strange bed which seems to be made of intertwining vines. The bed looks bouncy, and a soft looking silk and cotton duvet lies over it. A long chest of drawers resides near to Artemis' bed, what at first glance looks like leaves hanging out of it turns out to be one of Artemis' leafy shirts.

 

"Hm."
I mentally take note as I look around the room.

 

There's a strange wooden totem with flowers around it's base near to Artemis' bed, and a small hole under it's mouth. It looks as if something is meant to be placed under it.
