Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Perry's busy petting Onyx, and the queen just silently takes the crystal.
"Maralune, don't ask him." She says to the mantis toy. "...Thank you, shadow."

 

A large, soft looking bed resides at the back of the large room. Shelves to the right side of the room are stacked with potions, while to the left, shelves are stacked with books. There's a desk with a computer, mouse and keyboard on it next to the bookshelf, a window looking out to the garden behind it. Another more resilient looking desk, albeit messier, resides opposite the computer desk, empty or partially empty bottles stacked on it next to ingredients, de-activated golems and charms.

"Does the toy Matriarch have some kind of special link to the real one?" I ask, curious.

 

"Nice room."
I compliment, walking over to the potion shelf and looking over the potions.

 

You feel a telepathic link open to you.
"I can use weak telepathy to talk with Perry. Or other people nearby."

 

They seem to be sorted without order, each with vibrant, swirling colours in different shaped bottles, all corked.

"I really aught to clean this place up." Stephanie says, looking at her messy work desk.

"So, you're the Matriarch, right?" I confirm.

 

"No, I'm the toy."

 

"Need some help with it?"
I ask.

 

"Oh. Sorry, got a little confused." I apologise.

"I guess. If you could empty out the bottles and store them in the cupboard under my potion shelf, that'd help." Stephanie says, summoning a small cauldron of sorts with which to pour the non-empty potion bottles into as she starts clearing away some of her charms and golems.

 

"All of these?"

 

"It's fine."

 

"As many as you can." Stephanie says.

"So...what's it like...being you?" I ask.

 

"What do you mean?"

 

"Alright."
I say, grabbing some, and pouring them into the couldron.

 

"Well, you're a toy, for one. What's that like?" I ask.

The potion drains rather quickly, seeming to infuse with a crystal at the bottom of the cauldron.

 

I continue grabbing and pouring potions.

 

"It's pretty simple. You don't have to eat, drink, or anything... just make sure you don't get damaged. I guess since I'm an inflatable toy, it's a bit different because I can't move deflated. My consciousness is in the material I'm made of, though, so really the only things I can do is figure out how much I can move without splitting a seam and staying away from sharp things."

 

There aren't many potions, and soon you find that you've poured all the half-full bottles away.

Stephanie seems to be arranging things on her desk, arranging a stand for her tome and re-aligning hanging crystals.

"Do you have soul then? Or faux-soul?" I ask.

 

I nod in agreement. "Anyways, thank you for your time." I say, before walking out and contacting the head of the survey corps in this realm.

 

"Okay, what else?"
I ask.

 

"Uuuh," Stephanie says, arranging things, "Could you check everything is in order in my cupboard under my book shelf?"
