Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, but not for long." She giggles.

 

I step through after her, offering a hand to take to try and ease her nerves.

"Don't worry, there's nothing to be afraid of." I say, smiling.

 

"S-so m-m-much d-dark..." She utters, trembling.

 

"Oh, here wear this." I say, summoning a necklace with a crystal shaped like a flame, putting it around Perry's neck.

As soon as the crystal is around Perry's neck, everything seems to become a lot brighter, looking like normal daytime light.

 

It takes a few seconds, but she starts to calm down.
"How did you do that?"

 

"Magic. The necklace around your neck is attuned to this realm, and lets you see clearly within it." I say, smiling.

 

"OK then..." I comment a bit scared

 

"Like the magic in Missy Maralune?" Perry asks, taking in the sights of the medical ward, for better or for worse.

"So, who're you fighting? I can make the battle one sided." Xlentia asks, laying down on the empty field between your village and the centaur's forest.

 

"Kind of. It's not the same type of magic, but it is still magic." I say, starting to lead Perry toward the double doors at the end of the medical ward.

The medical ward seems mostly empty, though a few people seem to be waiting on chairs. A mother air guardian sits with her son, his leg looking broken and his expression pained.

 

Perry seems a bit disturbed, but follows you anyways.

 

Artemis waits outside the room with Perry's mother, glancing at me once I enter the hallway.

"What took you so long?" Artemis asks.

"I played a game of checkers with Perry here." I say honestly, opening the door to the room with the queen.

 

Perry leaves her Mantis toy at the door as she runs in and hugs the queen.

 

I smile, watching, before entering after the reunion.

"Excuse me, your majesty?" I ask the queen respectfully.

 

She looks up at you wearily.
"This is about her being kept in her room, no?" She asks.

 

"You're quite sharp. Yes, it is." I say.

 

"Don't give me false praise. I know precisely what you did and said with my daughter." She says. "I did it for her protection, since her sister is both violent-mannered and influential."

 

"Then, may I offer my own protective services. She won't need to be locked up in her room, you'll be able to see her whenever you wish, she'll be protected from her violent sister and she'll be able to be free to explore whenever she wants." I explain calmly.

 

"If you can tolerate that toy of hers, I wouldn't mind. Your people speak highly enough of you I suppose I could overlook your... criminal record... Perry could use a little worldly experience, anyways."

 

"Then I just need you to sign a few papers." I say, summoning several papers and a pen, offering them to the queen.

"Just sign at the bottom of the page, next to the x's." I say.

 

The queen takes the papers and refuses the pen, reading every last word on the paper. (If it's in shadow tongue, you're not sure how she understands, but she seems to be able to anyways)
