Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Eventually, she utterly destroys you.
"Are you okay, mister Aj?" She asks, uneasy.

 

"I'm mostly done." Stephanie says, snuffing out the water candle and de-summoning it, as well as her valueable tome and the piece of wood.

I just laugh happily.

"Good game. You're pretty skilled at Checkers. That, or I'm terrible." I say.

 

"Whenever you're ready."

 

"It's the first time I won in a long time. Missy Maralune never seems to lose!" Perry giggles.

 

Stephanie takes out a light turquoise crystal from her cloak, crushing it, causing a portal to open in front of her. Stephanie steps through, glancing back at you.

"Then that's why you're so skilled. If you're up against someone who never loses, you can learn from them," I say happily, "So, shall we play again, or do you want to play a different game?"

 

I follow suit, looking around once I enter.

 

It seems to lead to the front of a mansion-like house, Stephanie opening the door to it.

"I'm home! I brought Thirteen over!" Stephanie calls, to no response.

 

"Was someone supposed to answer?"
I ask Stephanie, curious, but not nervous.

 

"Well, you didn't come to play games. So... why'd you come?"

 

"Aj. He's probably listening to music again so he can't hear me." Stephanie says, taking her shoes off and putting them on a small shelf with other shoes.

"I guess you weren't around to see, but your father got very badly hurt, and your mother got hurt too. I took them to an advanced hospital to be healed, as well as your siblings, but your mother said you were still missing so I came to find you and bring you to her." I explain.

 

She pauses.
"I can't go. Sissy always tries to kill me."

 

"Huh. Alright."
I note, taking of my boots, and placing them next to Stephanie's shoes respectfully.

 

"Why's that?" I ask, concerned.

"So, what do you want to see first?" Stephanie asks.

 

"I wouldn't know, it's your house. Show me around."

 

"Ok, uh, this is the living room. It's where we relax most of the time." Stephanie says, heading through a doorway into a room with a large TV, two long sofas with reclining seats and remotes on the armrests, a small table standing near the chairs and what appears to be a router in the corner. In addition, various game consoles seem to be placed under the TV, as well as their controllers.

 

I mentally take note, following Stephanie.

 

"Because she wants to be the next queen."

 

Stephanie heads through the living room to a set of glass doors.

"This leads out to the garden and Artemis' forest. It's sort of her room out there, but she comes inside during the winter so she doesn't freeze to death." Stephanie says.

Through the glass doors, you can see a small patio leading uo to a large garden, a slight hill leading into a thick looking forest with a small pathway into it. Coloured orbs seem to hang from the trees along the path, emitting a slight amount of light.

"Well...what if I got you someone to protect you from her? Someone really tough!" I suggest happily.

 

"Yeah, that seems like something Artemis would make."
I comment, continuing to follow.

 

"But if she dies, who'll be queen after me?"
