Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You'd be hunted by a high god, but probably nobody other than that."

 

"Most of them are." Artemis says, gently petting the raptor.

The first few pages seem to be a glossary, sorted alphabetically. Every room in the palace seems to be attributed to a page number, and once you get past the glossary, the pages appear to be diagrams of the dials in certain positions.

 

"Mhm, I see." I say, stroking my chin.
"Anyways, enough abou the Hydra. Can you please explain as to how this village came to be?"

 

I look in the glossary for the library, and it's respective page number, then turn to that page.

 

"I'm done here. I'm going back to my village."
I look at Anne
"You know where to find me."
And with that I'm gone

 

Anne winks at you as you leave.

"Back so soon?" Lauin asks, concerned.

"Just a bunch of shapeshifters seeking refuge from discrimination. That's really all there is to it, at the core."

"I... still don't know. It's... all too much."
The raptor nods.
"It'll be fixed. I think we can fix it." They say happily, as if they're actually able to do something next to Artemis and Tirra.

 

"Things didn't go as planned, make sure everyone is on high alert for any attacks. I have a feeling that a war is coming soon."

 

"Why?" Lauin asks. "Did they refuse the treaty?"

 

"Yes, go and alert the soldiers to be on guard at all times."

 

"As you wish."
They vanish, and a minute later, soldiers seem to be keeping watch around every inch of the edge of your village.

 

The library's page number is on the fourth page in, and on the page is a diagram showing how the dials should be turned.

"I suggest you find somewhere safe with other humans. The raptors and mantises are to be trusted, they've been through the same situation you're currently in, and can help." Artemis says, before looking ready to enter the castle.

 

I close the book, then try turning the dials the way they're supposed to go.

 

After turning the centre dial with the others in place, you find yourself transported to the Shadow Palace library, your vision going black for about a second. The library is rather tall and expansive, books stacked on bookshelves both inside the library and along the walls of it. A staircase resides at the back of the library to ascend the floors, and a desk is near the entrance to the library with a Shadow sitting at it. They appear to be managing returns and loans of books.

 

They nod after a pause.

 

Artemis heads into the castle, Tirra following, seeming to enjoy the presence of the brick used to make the castle.

Artemis heads back up the staircase, taking the same path to the hidden staircase and throne room.

 

All four are still there, the raptor eyeing them curiously as they seem to just mourn.

 

Artemis hangs back, Tirra taking the lead.

"Excuse me?" Tirra asks.

 

They glance at her, sans the king for obvious reasons.
"...Who're you?" One of the kids ask.

 

"My name is Tirra. I'm an Earth Guardian. Did a girl with green hair and eyes come here and give you a black crystal?" Tirra asks.

 

"Yes." The queen says. "I only found demons, and fled. She said there would be help... it seemed more like a trap."
