Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What!? That's horrible!" Artemis says, "Aj, you've given the engineers the inhibitor parts, right?"

"Yeah, they said they'd start working on reverse engineering it." I say.

"Can you come back with me then? The raptors and manti need our help!" Artemis says, petting the raptor gently.

"Artemis," I say, sounding serious as I look Artemis in the eyes, "I'd go with you anywhere."

Artemis smiles, kissing me for a moment before the pair of us get up, Artemis putting her armour back on and tapping her crystal, returning to her death guardian form. After Artemis turns back into a death guardian, I tilt my head to the side, letting Artemis bite into my neck and drink some of my blood before she slips her mask over her face, and I seemingly disappear.

 

The raptor climbs up Artemis' armor and onto her shoulder.
"They're panicking and doing stupid things like burning things to ward off the ruin. We don't understand it, but they're all just as panicked as we were when the ruin first rolled in."

They've followed you, at least until the opening where you flew out.
"Good thing you don't fall, robot." They say, acting as an emotional support animal for the royalty as they're pet.

 

"We might need to get going. How long are you planning to stay?"
I ask.

 

"Let's go." Artemis says, taking out a crystal that teleports her to the portal room in Xlentia's palace and heading through the portal to Marlune.*

OOC: *I forget.

 

"I dunno. It feels weird what they're doing to me, but they're not plucking me, so I don't mind. Do you need me to go?"

The raptor seems disoriented, but keeps quiet, until...
"Isn't that the same portal I had to go through to get to the giant palace?"

 

"No, but someone might pluck you soon if you stay around."

 

"Okay, I'm coming." The raptor says, leaving the royal family and waving them off as they trot over to you.

 

OOC: I was going to put Maralune but then I thought that was wrong, dammit X33

"Yes, but it works both ways." Artemis says, looking around for signs of chaos and destruction.

 

I wave to them as well.
"Get on my back."
I say, kneeling.

 

"Oh."

The big smoke cloud billowing from the forest would be a start.

They do, wrapping around your neck and grabbing their feet to help stay on.

 

"I'm going to fly. Ready?"

 

"Think so."

 

"What bigger problems?"

 

"Alright."
I say, taking off towards the forest.

 

"An enemy that's enslaving gods. If we wanted your kind dead, do not doubt we could push you to extinction in the hour. However, that is both unjust and a waste of our resources."

They end up grabbing on tighter as you suddenly take off, cutting into your neck a bit before loosening up for the rest of the flight.

 

"Are you threatening my kin?"

 

As I go to the forest, I look around for anyone.

 

Artemis, first hurt and offended, before enranged, sprints toward the forest.

 

There's people trying to burn down the forest, a few trying to put it out, and many people who have just fainted from panic.

"A-absolutely not! Don't get the wrong idea, but..."
Pause.
"...Here. If you will come with me real quick, and you alone... I want you to meet someone. Someone you'll never forget, for the better or otherwise."

There's a group of people trying to burn it and the mantis structures down, a group trying to put out the fire, and another that's either trampled, dead, knocked out, or just passed out from the chaos.
