Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis grows a pair of dark arms and hands from her sides, doubling the amount of runes and their power, before the arms retract and Artemis simply jams a recently summoned Shadow Katana through the seal, trying to break it.

 

Shadow Katana does a lot less than the runes were.
Artemis can hear whoever it is rummaging through something through the door, but the seal's barely holding. One more good set of runes...

 

Artemis re-grows her arms, as well as an extra one out of her back and draws a set of large, powerful runes to bombard the door.

 

"A chronomancer... looks like I'll actually have to be ready for anything."

 

As the door bursts down, the mage from the roof seems to be trying to open a portal, though she gets knocked out by the door hitting her.

"Chronomancer, hemomancer, sorcerers, warriors... probably a god by now."

 

Artemis summons a small box, sliding it open to reveal smelling salts which she waves under Neal's nose, trying to get her to come to.

 

Neal slowly wakes.
"What the hell... was that for?" She groans.

 

"I'm sorry, I didn't know the door would break like that. What are you doing here? I was looking for the true royalty." Artemis says, offering a hand to help Neal up.

 

"Throne room, duh."
She just sits up on her own, annoyed.

 

"Where did the true royalty go? I heard screaming, and the false royalty were almost assassinated." Artemis asks.

 

"What do you mean? The royals are in the throne room, I thought." Neal asks, confused.

 

"You said the royals were figureheads, and the inhibitor wasn't made to keep the ruin out, but the opposite," Artemis says, confused, "The "Royals" of the castle are just there for the public and inhibitor, the actual royalty are the ones with power."

 

"Oh... I have no idea. I was trying to spy on them when you punched a brick that dismembered my left hand. After that, I just wanted to bail the hell out."

 

"Sorry, I didn't realise you were there. I was annoyed," Artemis apologises sincerely, "You wouldn't happen to know where the inhibitor is actually kept, would you?"

 

"Top of the castle."

 

"Alright, are you ok here on your own, or do you need transport to somewhere safe?" Artemis asks.

 

"Hope I can sign a peace agreement between them. As long as the Kitsunes aren't brought into any wars. Then the Prophets henchmen and my kin will be in good terms."

 

"I should be fine. What do you plan to do with the inhibitor, anyways?"

"You'll have to talk to her. Last time I heard of her, she threw a genocidal demon at the last group who opposed her. No survivors."

 

"Destroy it, harvest its parts and see what happens." Artemis says, evil in her tone.

 

Neal nods.
"I would say don't fall, but I didn't expect your boyfriend to be an eldritch monstrosity."
