Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

About three quarters of an hour later, Artemis shows back up at the human's castle moat, covered in expensive looking jewellery. Golden bracelets, diamond rings and emerald necklaces cover her arms, hands and neck, as well as a pretty gold tiara with a ruby, and a shiny golden pair of boots.

"Hello?" Artemis calls, face still hidden under her mask.

 

"Where'd you get all that?" The guards ask, curious.

 

"Does it matter? It's simply a show of what I'm offering to trade for an audience with your royalty," Artemis says, "Though I can assure you, none of it is stolen."

 

"It matters to the king and queen."

 

"If you must know, I took it from my boyfriend's treasury, a fellow king." Artemis says calmly.

 

The guards seem surprised.
"...We'll let you in, but if you harm a citizen, we will stop you at the stronghold." They say, drawbridge beginning to lower.

 

"Thank you." Artemis says, waiting for the drawbridge to lower completely.

 

Once it does, she can see a main road populated by nervous looking citizens walking up and down, glancing at Artemis with something between fear and curiosity. By the looks of it, it goes straight into the wrecked marketplace.

 

Artemis walks through into the marketplace, any pickpockets or thieves attempting to steal her jewellery finding their life starting to drain faster and faster the closer they get to Artemis. Artemis strides through the marketplace, looking around for any hints on where to find the royalty.

 

"Eh I can only read minds if they are willing to. Most of the time they aren't so I kill them."

 

The giant castle on the far end of town is probably a start.

"Oh, you're so kind."

 

Artemis walks through the town toward the castle, keeping an eye on her surroundings and an air of ominous mystery about her.

 

Everyone eyes her nervously, but there's nothing stopping her from walking straight into the castle.

 

Artemis decides to wait outside the castle for a bit, watching for anyone entering or leaving to see if there's any sort of magical defence system or forcefield.

 

There's absolutely nothing it seems, including people coming or going.

 

"Is that sarcasm I hear?" Unaware that Laze is still listening and growing impatient

 

Artemis decides to head into the castle, looking around for an indication of a throne room.

 

"Damn straight."
"Can you two shut the hell up?!" Laze snaps.

Inside, there's a central staircase branching out into two balconies on each side of the walls, rooms and doorways seemingly scarce.

 

Artemis, slightly confused, looks for signs of life.

 

There's signs of life on each side of the walls and above.
