Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yes." She confirms. "I, however, fail to see why they're all bad. That one was pretty calm, compared to what they try to tell everyone at the academy. I'd bring her in there to show and tell if they wouldn't take her away and kill her."

 

I smile.
"They're not so bad once you get to know them. I think they'd behave differently if people were more accepting, but you said it yourself."

 

"Ah. Pleasure to meet you. Can you please tell me abo the village up ahead?"

 

"Of course. It's the shifter village, and we've lived there since even before the prophet came. If you're heading there, watch your pockets; others of my kind seem habitually inclined to try and pickpocket visitors."

She nods.
"Time will tell. Hey, if you're planning something, I was kind of hoping instead of overthrowing us all at once, you started to introduce us to what it's like to have our borders open."

 

"Yeah, I was planning that, but doing that would result in a compromise of my position here. I was thinking about forcing my way to get an audience with the king, but once again, I don't know if I still need my position here."

 

"Weapons are a useful tool that can be the end of either side of a battle, and armour is simply logical. The armadillo has a hard outer shell to protect itself, and the hedgehog can curl itself up into a spiked ball to fend off predators. The cat has claws to strike, and the falcon has sharp talons to grab. Weaponry and armour are a part of nature, and strength is not necessarily the most important attribute." Artemis says prolifically.

 

"If you are not your weapon, then you show a sign of weakness." The raptor retorts.

"I'm sorry I can't help you with this. If you need me to stash her for a little bit longer, I can, but I'm not sure how long I can keep up the ruse."

 

"I'm sure I can get her out of here. Fuela, get away from the door."
I prompt.

 

"I am not used to this form, but if you do not consider the ability to completely drain the life of another to strengthen my own a weapon, then I shall stay with my scythe." Artemis says.

 

She walks out of the doorway.

"Now that is strength I can respect. In that case, I am Akli'il, chief of this tribe. You likely already met Aral'hrah, another chief, and I'm assuming you met the Matriarch considering you smell of paints."

 

I slightly crack open the door, walk outside, close the door behind me and look around for people.

 

Still nobody.

 

"Yes, the Matriach is really the reason I'm here in the first place. Though I am curious about the marketplace trouble that has been caused. There is always two sides to a coin." Artemis says.

 

I walk outside a bit more, turning around in circles to look for any motion or anybody.

 

"What did the Matriarch want with us?" Akli'il asks.
"I tore up the marketplace." Elkir grunts. "Tore up the stands and tore down the humans who couldn't get behind a guard in time."

There's a few people in back alleys, but they're busy.
However, you are being watched for through windows.

 

I smile and nod to the people in the windows before going back inside, and closing the door.
"Got a back exit?"

 

"The Matriach suggested I go to the castle, and a guard told me I could only enter with Elkir's corpse," Artemis says, before turning to Elkir, "Why?"

 

They just watch.

"Yeah, kinda made a secret passage in my room to get out when my dad locked me in." She says, heading behind the counter.

"Because I tore up the marketplace." He grunts.

 

"Where is your dad, by the way?"
I ask, following her and motioning Fuela to come.

 

Artemis sighs.

"I'll go fake that corpse now. Unless you want to tell me anything else?" Artemis asks.
