And blizzard didnt try, they ended up witb huge beginning-end game inbalances and currency that is useless.
EA only managed to somewhat control the currency when they introduced the tax.
Ghost trappers didn't tax correctly and ended up with several different currency systems in the same game because each one ended being crap due to inflation.

Mousehunt managed to prevent it by having a constant gold drop from different level mobs, not increasing it as levels go up. They also had useful items you can buy with gold, that helped too.

I have been playing online games for 10 years, I have seen how economy works, no need to explain me things.

The supply of an item is not infinite. Well, technically, it is, but there aren't infinite copies of them floating around the market. The amount of emeralds goes up much faster than the amount of good items; emeralds drop rather frequently, and in large quantities. Good items (and items in general) drop much less often, and are often sold to the item buyer, getting rid of items and creating more emeralds.
We can do pretty much just that. Items would not have such high prices if not for the ever-rising amount of emeralds. More of those items would lower the price again, sure, but it's not nearly enough to remove the effect of emerald inflation. If it did, we would never have seen inflation.

Items and currency don't cancel each other out in the slightest.

Well that's another problem about if an item drop chance is actually higher or lower than that of the emerald drop chance
If a drop chance of a mythic is 0.0007% and we have 100% to drop 6 emerald per mob killed
That means we need to kill 142857 mobs to get a mythic
    that's equivalent to 209 LE
and then the ID also varies the price of a mythic, for example for a strati, in order to get 91% ws, that's basically that 100 times that mob and you'll need to pick 1 out of 30 mythics? in the pool , and rolling 1% out of it, basically is ~9000 stacks
but that's not how the market works, it's basically not possible to caculate price accurately, when more are found since someone's demand is fulfilled, the price would drop, just look at Fatal, price dropped from 12stack to 9stacks due to low demand as they were duped.
When quantity of an item is over the the quantity of emerald, the price is eventually gonna drop.
And who can even tell if the drop chance*ID possibility / market demand = emerald droprate
no one can even tell the exact variables. I'd rather stay saying they're roughly the same

This is correct for a single item. This is incorrect for the economy. Compare it to global warming; it's not every year that will be hotter than the last, it's that over a longer period of time, temperatures are steadily going up. It's essentially the same with prices, but scaling down the time-frame by a large margin.

Well mythical r like the only reason to stockpile more than 2 stacks.
And need to stockpile more just increases inflation and makes mythical more expensive

I feel that the skill point glitch and people droping their items, are a better item sink then dying.
I hate to say it but maybe there should always be a chance to drop an ID'd item when you die, like a 0.5% chance when you do not die from: /kill, burn, or fall to death(void/damage). Do people even drown?

I know, what I'm asking is that if the skill point glitch was the reason for your armor disappearing or not back when it affected both armor and accessories.
