"Sure, I'd love to see it." Artemis says happily.

Then look around to see if Gau is still here.

 

"Who said anything about keeping you alive." I smile
Suddenly a scream is heard throughout the mountains and wakes up Anne.

 

He's watching from a distance.

"Would you mind coming to my home?" She asks, turning towards a withered forest.

 

"Not at all." Artemis says, ready to follow.

 

Anne runs over, immediately coating you in fire.
"You're such an asshole!" She barks.

The mantis walks deep into the forest, a tangled vine stucture starting to become visible as they enter a central hut.
A canvas with a half-finished painting sits in the middle of the room along with a huge box of dyes, but she takes a painting of a dragon breaking out of a castle wall off of the floor and hands it to Artemis.

 

Artemis studies the painting curiously.

 

I walk over to him.
"I wanted to ask you a question before Artemis came."

 

It's painted like a masterpiece, every brick accounted for from the broken wall and every scale on the dragon shaded and painted with ridiculous precision, almost as if the mantis used a one-bristle brush for the detailing.

"Do you want it?"

 

He nods.
"And that would be...?"

 

"Do you think Akli'il enjoys Eklir's company?"

 

"Again, you'd have to ask him. I have no idea."

 

"Would you know if he has any dead bodies that look remotely close to Eklir?"

 

I immediately put out the fire and start regrowing my fur
"Do you mind. I'm trying to get information from our dead attacker." Ignoring her remark

 

"Not sure. Ask him."

"He's dead, though."

 

I nod, then start walking towards Akli'il territory.
I stop, though, after a few moments, but then begin to walk once more.

 

I fly down to the horse.
"Are you sentient?" I ask.

 

"Why wouldn't I be?" It responds, continuing its slow but steady pace across the fields.

They seem to be on high alert.

"HEY! Did you find the chief's wife?" One of the patrols asks.
"He's awful worked up about it right now."

 

"Bad news. We've only got an inclination of where she is, and the only one that can maybe confirm it is Eklir."
I report.

 

"Was... she the other that followed the two runners into the city?" They ask, nervous about the implication. "Because if she's dead, we're all screwed... Chief is terrifying when he's angry."
