Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis sighs.

"Sorry about this." Artemis says as she touches her necklace gently, it's glow disappearing. Artemis hair and eyes (or rather, visible eye) turn to a darker green, and her teeth grow slightly to become sharper, resembling the fangs of a vampire. Artemis' bow and quiver seem to disappear from her back, being replaced with a dauntingly sharp scythe. Artemis' forest green leafy shirt and shorts become darker in colour too, looking more sinister and spikier.

 

The raptors back up.
"W-what are you doing...?"

 

"I can't manage here as a Forest Guardian due to the Ruin, and with the lack of life, I'm much better suited to being a Death Guardian," Artemis says, her voice noticeably darker, more sinister, "Would any of you mind...donating, a bit of blood?"

 

"WE ALL MIND!" They half-shout, darting off just as fast as one of Artemis' arrows.
"CHIEF, RUN!" You can hear one of them call as they flee.

"Sorry." Artemis apologises.

 

A large mantis approaches her slowly, seeming to have painted armblades.
"Who... are you?"
"Matriarch, be careful!" Three others urge, chasing after them.

 

"I'm Artemis, Death Guardian. I used to be a Forest Guardian, but due to the state of life here, I've been forced to change to better suit this world." Artemis says, bowing slightly.

 

I shrug.
"Here, bite me."

"She's not going to kill you all."
I say to the raptors and mantises.

 

"Is it that hopeless of a situation?" She asks, unsure.

The Matriarch waves her guard off as they go calm down the raptors.

 

"Anyway." I say
"Who are you and why are you trying to kill me?"

 

The half-dragon remains silent.

 

"Thanks."
I nod.

 

Artemis bites into your neck, drinking quite a bit of your blood, but leaving you with enough to survive. A bite mark is left in your neck; two small holes where Artemis' fangs were.

"Thanks, I really needed that." Artemis says, wiping her mouth and removing the vines around her covered eye as what appears to be the remainders of a black eye quickly heals. Artemis blinks, then winks with her healed eye and rubs it slightly.

"Ah, finally." Artemis says happily.

"Sorry for any confusion." Artemis apologises.

 

The blood tastes a lot more metallic than blood usually does.
"Glad to help."

 

"That should last me a while, so I probably won't have to drain too much of your blood anytime soon." Artemis says happily.

 

"Well, feel free to take some anytime. Survival for me is possible with a lack of blood."

 

"You still look like a human to me." The mantis says, still looking Artemis over.

"She seems nice enough."

 

"She is. Helped a lot in my life."

 

"Thanks, Thirteen." Artemis says, smiling.

"My kind is very similar in appearance to a human, however our eye and hair colours are the most noticable difference, as well as our abilities. Most humans do not possess the strength and depth of magical abilities my kind has." Artemis says.

 

I nod, then go back to paying attention to the Matriarch.
