Debate About The Wynn Economy

To be completely honest I completely forgot dungeons exist.

Most my friends from pre gavel prefer the old system but I guess none of us can talk about the majority until we do a poll.
I like the new system but when it comes to pvp I prefer the old one.

 

Is any of this even about the economy anymore?

 

Look at the Corrupted Witherhead's Bow, it's a legendary item from the Corrupted Decrepit Sewers, but despite being from a level 70 dungeon it's often compared to Az, a mythic bow in a similar level range, in terms of power.

And then you have Wall Breaker, Infidel, Judas, the Sanctuary items, etc.... and all of these are from dungeons under level 90, who knows what the level 90+ dungeons will contain.
And again, if you don't buy anything from another player, these items will cost you 0 Emeralds. (Not counting HP potion cost)

PvP in general has been a nasty mess for a long while, the CT are aware of this, but they've stated that PvP unfortunately must be put on the backburner as PvE must take top priority for now to balance stuff before even trying to balance aspects of PvE.

However, this thread is not about PvP, it's about the economy, so I'll stop.

 

Yes, the topic of old wynn is indirectly related.

 

PvP is absolute shit right now, Element tanks, and tanks that straight up 1shot basically everything (cata, fatal). Poison, cactus builds, or a combination of all the above. No. PvP is known to be shit, lets not bring that into this.

Thus Far, @Yuno F Gasai seems to be the only really strong con voice. Anything else you'd like to say?

 

This would be because you've been here for a year. There's been massive inflation, especially comparing pre-gavel to post-gavel.

That's not how prices work. In a free market, like this one, it's all supply and demand. If nobody can afford an item, nobody will want that item. Thus, the price goes down until it's back in demand. Less money circulating and being generated would help lower prices. It would in no way fix the economy, but it would help.

 

Yesterday when I last saw the thread it was at 3 pages. Today I log in and it quintupled. What the hell?

 

How to lower inflation 101:

• Sell your pumpkin helm and mama zombie's memory to the seller
• Sell items to item buyers, not people
• Reroll alot
• Find a new scam merchant and give him money
• "Accidentaly" throw items into hoppers or lava

 

that will definitely lower the inflation but increase the shitposting in bug, wynncraft, and general suggestions subforum

This would do nothing but inflate the value of said mythics and collectibles. If all the mythics were gone, and a single new one were found, imagine the bidding war that would ensue. No, this is not a viable solution at all.

we talk about the supply and demand law. The supply of an item is basically infinite, items are infinitely generated, same for emerald, when one is generating emerald into the market, he is also generating items into the market. Basically again, as I said before, the amount of good item against the amount of total emerald is almost a constant. You cannot just look into how much emerald is in the market but neglecting the fact that items is also a product inside the circulation. Items and Currency check and balance out each other. I don't see a problem there.
